I may have already told you this but if so it still needs to be said again, the progress you've made since the beginning of this SB is unbelievable. I mean I look at that guy reaching into the blood pool and thats close to my skill range and than at this page and you wouldn't be able to know it was the same artist.
You've got some crazy skill getting skills... did I really just say skill get... forget it I cant think of anything better

nice updates. I agree with andy about perhaps doing some with less under-drawings.

There is steady improvement going on in this thread so no crits from me, just keep doing what you're doing.

I checked out his website after reading that last post and yeah HELL YEAH! hes got some pretty incredible stuff up there. I would love to see some more of his sci-fi stuff but I'm sure there is more to come!

I have one main crit for this guy, and that is the feet. His right (our left) looks quite strange. My life drawing teacher was telling me yesterday to always draw the hands and feet if possible. He said that people avoid them because they are hard, from a beginnner stage, and then years later they become hard because they have been avoided. Self-fulfilling prophecy!

    Just something to think about.

I dig the colouring on the last one very simple yet effective, concerning your comment in my SB ^^ the thing here is that the task was to loosen up a little ....to let go and dont clean up every shape so for now it will stay the way it is but i will think about refining them one day.

ThomasM - ha thanks for the crit man, but the feet thing was most definately on purpose. i thought hed look more demon like if i at least gave him gnarly tree trunk looking feet, seeing as the rest of his body was just a bulky human, with some exaggerated proportions. but thanks man!

Partisan - thanks man! -and i totally feel ya. sometimes im in a mood to hand out ass pats, and sometimes i feel like handing out ass beatings (critique style). ha.

cgaddict - thanks dude! but shit i feel like i need to do like 1000 more anatomy studies whenever i look through your sb.

    Urötskidoji - thanks man!

    Cool Spawn sketch.
To Post 847, the muscle guy. Looks good, but: If it is not a finished ink drawing to get colored, I would paint over the lines, and start bledning and playing around with tones. Even in ink drawings I would sketch in with a pencil which doesnt get inked, so that I can suggest the form with watercolor or ink wash. Try to avoid hard lines when it comes to render big muscles, only use them to suggest a form. It does always look more advanced and even more bad ass.
    Best example: Carlos Huante.

But you are making a good job anyway, so dont take this post a a crit. It just want to give you a tip that could turn out well

    cheers acki

Hey thanks for checking out my section. I just went through some of your pages and like what you are doing. Love the crazy wild creatures and some of your layouts. Funny I see that you are like me in that you really fill out the pages. As I looked through more of your pages I see you are doing figure studies, etc. So I really don't have much to ad as I see you are doing stuff I would of suggested. Look are old master, art history books once in a while. Draw from real life if you can. Draw friends, family or models in classes, etc. Keep you sketchbook with you. Seems like you are doing the right stuff. Carry on!

Michael Caine was at my house today.
We had a lot of beers.
He throw up behind my couch.
He is old and weak, cannot stand much alcohol.
    I lifted him home.
Are you updating or should I send him to your house?
