Artschool Portfolio (design & 2 illos, crits needed)

hey folks, i'm new to this place... so HELLO EVERYBODY!!
currenty preparing my folio cd-rom presentation for an artschool here in germany

these are the enter-screen and the main page (navigation still in the works...)
the thumbs & pictues will show up in the darker box on the main page (additional navigation, like zooming will be below that box...)

the illustrations were both done digitally in photoshop with wacom, used myself as reference

i'm very thankful for every constructive crit you have (expecially for the illos)... many thanks for ya time

www.khm.de? I had a look at their homepage just now, i know they specialized in film. I heard that if that is what you want to do, they're #1.
As for the illustrations, i like the first one. Did you use a photo for reference on that one?
On the second one, i'd rework the hand. Also the head and shoulders don't seem to match.
I liked how you kept the design simple and easy, most people put too much stuff into their designs.

yep, khm, thats the school.

about the first illustration: i started with an (invented) rough sketch how i wanted it to look, next I used myself as reference for some anatomical details. i used photos, since i couldn't see myself in the mirror from that angle... especially used reference for the head (of course, since i wanted it to be some kind of self portraiture) and the chest (rips). colors are invented, changed lighting from the ref... oh and the hand is invented too... but I think thats the weakest part of it... maybe i should rework the hands in both pieces...
as for the second one... i realy rushed this one, cause i wanted to give it some kind of spontaneous feeling... but i know what you mean. i think i'll redo it...
