    What I spend my last couple of hours on

    this is a character design im just starting on.
    Im decided on the name Maezani Black.

    heres the version i did first. Didnt quite work for me

    I'm not sure but her jaw looks a little fat maybe? but it also could have had something to do with matching the top portion of the head. To my eye it improved allot once you covered that up with the hair. The eye on the viewer's left looks a bit funky too. The hair's flat as well but I'm assuming that was just to check the basic form of it. It looks like a good start, you should definitely finish

    Her left eye is too high compared to her right eye. And particularly in the first one, not so much in the second, the back of her head is too small -- it should go farther back

    The nose is too long; it should be just shy of the halfway point between the eyes and the chin.

    The nose is looking a bit vague where it meets the brow line and along it's length. You might want to dig up some refs of asian noses to get a clearer idea of what they generally look like.

    Since you're working digitally, flip your canvas. You'll start to see how skewed the face is.
