I looked know for the first time in this sketchbook and I'm really impressed! I love it how you work on the anatomy and the shapes of creatures. And your studies about values are very interesting too

    Conte
    - Thanks you!

Metal Fingers - Haha yeah.. no worries man, did you really think I'd just slap on different colours on them and call them different designs? did you?! huh? whats that? hmm? haha nah im kidding. Check this concepts out

    Enthombed
    - yeah I'm aiming to finish! thanks

    Sevarenge
    - Get to da chopppah! You will see it finished my friend!

Valyavande - Thanks! glad you found it interesting

    Shard
    - Cheers!

Jansi - What process? haha jokes, thank you!

Woa! Thanks so much for all the feedback! makes me happy
concepts nearly done, working on the Atlantis one. The earlier concept sheet was a colour test, planned on bringing them further. Doing all those thumbs earlier really helped me with these.. it was fun picking all the different cool parts and add them to the designs.
I hope these will read well with their environment once I render them in color. I think I nailed all 3 of them pretty well.
    Updates later! cheers!

Loving the shaggy fur on the Ice creature, and I ntice the patterning on the Atlantis creature, I think they would look really good on the creatures large throat as well.
Very inspirational to see your work dude. Keep it coming!!

Rob Powell - Thanks for the feedback man! added some patterning to the Atlantis concept

arh, didn't have time to add colour on these. Once I started the lack of rendering in many areas became really obvious. Another COW where I fail to finish.. I need to re-think a bit here. For now though, COW will have to wait (unless the topic is really epic) .. got a lot of personal stuff to do.

Anyway, here are the concepts and a colour wip.

Lovely, robust feeling to the creatures you've made for COW. They don't look like they're going to fall apart. They look as though they would function. I know that most COW are about fantasy settings but believe can only be suspended so far.

Noticed many things while I was working -

    - The face is EXTREMELY sensitive to temperature changes in colour and change of value.

    - the slightest change in the key shapes (Nose, lips, eyes) have a radical impact on the face.

    - The girl had a cool red castshadow, leaning towards purple hues in relation to the rest of her face

-There was a warm red hue in the shadowplanes facing her skin (very subtle bouncelight from the skin I guess)
    Absolutely agree!

Man Defiled, you're killing it this round. Those are badass. I can't wait to see the finals, with a touch of color.

One crit though, the leg in the foreground looks a bit awkward, not sure if it's the lighting or the shape that's doing it. Actually, I think it's the black rocklike protrusions that make it look like its elbow is coming toward the viewer. Seems like if you put hilights on the back side of that rock, it would fix that.
