My first Sketch with a pencil outdoor:
hi,
first welcome to conceptart and the fascinating world of drawing and sketching. Luckily all you need is a pencil, paper and the will to get better and you will improve. Drawing often at best everyday and you will get better very fast.
Now I'm not a professional either so what I say may not the right thing for you.
Google Andrew Loomis and get his Free PDF books on drawing. Read them and do all the drawings in them. There is also a wealth of information right here at conceptart.
Good luck and stay with it.
Hand Sketch with blue pencil.
Hey, welcome to conceptart.
Looks like you're off to a good start with those hand studies. My advice is to just jump in and try all sorts of things, still lives, full figures, landscapes, whatever - to build up a good base of knowledge and expand your comfort zone.
Most importantly, don't get discouraged!
Good luck!

I have printed the previous line art with a low opacity and then inked with a brush.
Great work doing those studies. Keep up with the fundamental stuff and all the fancy stuff will get better and better![]()
Yo!
You are on the right track.
These studies are already paying off.
Sometimes when copying these studies try to watch out for their proportions.
In the Loomis chart with the proportions all of the bodys are off compared to the ones of Loomis.
Take your time for each study.
Overall: Quality instead of quantity!
Greetings and keep improving dude!
Thx to all for the helpful hints and nice words.
