color?!?!

people are always talking about colour. "well, you need to practice color", "you need to study how color works", "wow, awesome colors in this piece" etc.
what do they mean by that? im pretty sure my colors suck, so please tell me what i should study in order to learn "color" and what i have to pay attention to. thanks,

That's a big topic. I presume you know the colour wheel? Shadows are normally complimentary. Some colours are dominant while others are recessive. How to mix them to get that exact colour required. What colour you put next to another will change it.
