Just a little crit, with your finished piece of the girl cutting her hair, be mindful of your edges. Most of the edges in your picture are quite sharp which can take away the focus of the viewer and make their eye bounce everywhere. Perhaps it may be helpful to think of sharp edges as costing money. You don't want to blow your whole budget on areas which aren't too important, just spend it on the key areas where you want the viewer to focus, for instance on the core of the face and possibly the knife... not her arm, neck, etc... make those areas blurrier/looser than the others.
Another thing you can do is to push the saturation a bit in certain areas where the skin is tight over the skin like the nose, check bones, etc... this will create a contrast between desaturated areas and saturated areas... which in turn provides the viewer with more information/eye candy. Hope this helps!
