Yay, update time turned out great man, one small thing, I think the girls head might be a tad big/long, maybe it's got to do with perspective, I dunno, thats my tiny observation of the day (I'm probebly wrong though ) keep up the good work Miycko

The speed paint looks good, but I think the shadow on the female jaw looks just a little odd. There doesn't seem to be enough light there.

mariusz thank you very much i should have a look at that in future

jostyx thanks a lot man really need to work on those anatomy issues, i'll be sure to get to that as i go along

wakoes thanks man well the speed paints are from reference so i guess my imaginary paintings are just nowhere near that level yet, i need to work hard on lighting, anatomy etc etc etc.... so much stuff to do better get to work i guess

p sage i wish i could get some commisions unfortunatly there's no demand for painting in this damn country of mine & even if there was my job has me locked in a cage 10 hours a day so thats off the menu unfortunately i haven't had a steady gf for a couple months now, figure i'll get to that later on, when things are a little better wont pass up the opportunity if it presents itself though

The man with no name thank you my friend the head IS a little long, need to fix that too

    Sandame thanks a lot

seagulls i'll have a look at shadow, thanks man

not much of an update today. did a speed painting of Christina Millian, i'm not too happy with the face though, she has the facial features but she doesn't look like her, i hope that makes sence also an update on the anastasia image, since i found out that the gun can only fire one bullet before you have to reload i've come up with two scenarios which are below, if anyone can tell an alternative gun i could replace it with i would be thankful

    cheers

    hey miycko!
I would prefer a more "new-modern" gun. a little bit what stands in contrast to the elegant picture. a big revolver or a pumpgun? huuuum but a pumpgun is for two hands... ö.ö
    i think a big modern-gun should be cool. x3

Christina Millian = super hot! cool progress too, 1 small thing, I think the guys face should show a little more emotion, he should be feeling excruciating pain other than that very nice

The Anastasia pic is coming along well... love the expression on her face.

I think her left leg is a bit hammy in the calf area, and it seems like it's twisted one direction (looking at the knee) and then a different direction (if you look at the ankle).

Guess that's a nitpick though. It's really improved since the beginning.

Hanny Honeymoon A revolver, that's a great idea, thank you very much i did a search yesterday & found some nice reference pics

The man with no name you're right, he needs to show some more emotion, i've never painted anyone experiencing that kind of pain before so it's a challenge for me, here's hoping i manage

wakoes thank you dude, i'm glad you like it

towy LOL, thanks a lot man

Grandmassa Mr Spect She's really going for the kill came prepared with two guns that fire one bullet each

p sage it does look a little wierd, i should stop being lazy & fix that leg & i'm glad you like her facial expression here's a closeup of it

Did another speed painting this morninng, this time it's a schoolgirl demon hunter, she's looking a little younger than i'd originally intended but i'm fine with that. Took five hours to paint i found a website with some nice antique weapons so i can change that gun now, i'm going for the colt revolver which looks like a good choice to me. Also my bro's finished doing the music for the Lee-ann Liebenburg speed paint so here it is, hope you like it

hehe the girl in the anastasia image looks crazy. Wouldnt want to mess with her.
I think the shading looks pretty good and you have a good understanding of form.
The speed paint of Christina looks pretty good, maybe too good for me to help too much with, I dont think I can shade as well as you.
One thing though,To try and help you out. I notice that you focus on details more than the whole image in many of them. I think It may pay off to focus on the bigger picture so you dont get bogged down in details as fun as they may be. Some parts seem a little unfinished if that makes sense.

Cool video, dude. Good rendering there.

In this last one, I think the calves are showing up again as not being right anatomically. They're hidden beneath socks, but the wrongness of the shape still comes through. All it would be is a quick study of a calf from an anatomy book and you'd be good to go, IMO.

The man with no name thanks a lot dude glad i haven't bored you yet, i hope the vid was a bit helpful i felt kinda lazy to do a background so i blurred the hek out of it

seagulls hey man, i was hoping she'd look mean enough thanks for the great advice, i get too excited with detailing & fixing things & i end leaving things especially if there's a deadline i hope doing speed paints will help with that

DeadlyFreeze great seeing you here man just checked out your SB, sweet stuff

GwendZ thanks you very much, that means a lot don't be a stranger

p sage glad you like the vid & those funky calves, there's ta sort of stylised way of drawing them that i've gotten used to & kinda think is cool but i'm sure that's bad for anatomy gonna do some good practice on those soon, maybe even go all the way to the hips maybe even further

todays studies..........well actually the first page is from sunday but i felt so ashamed i couldn't post it anyways i did some more today which i'm a little more pleasesd with so i've got a small bulk of hand studies, bear with me a little longer, i should move on to the arm sometime soon & since i figured out how to link youtube videos i thought i'd i'd link the speed painting of the two sweeps video i painted a couple weeks back

you guys & gals are AWESOME

    thanks for visiting

    cheers

You've been very active lately. Very good!

One thing that I notice that stands out is that you rely on hard edge brushes too much which causes your figures to look less smooth and contoured than they could look. Try integrating your hard edge brushes with soft edge brushes.

    Keep those studies coming!!!

alrighty, today i tried to fix the issues with Anastasia. changed the gun, it's NOT a colt, but it IS a revolver which i modified a little tried to fix that opticle illusion with the guys foot, also tried make him look like he was experiening extreme pain but i think i messed that up i'll try & work on it later so if anyones got advice on how to improve his expression please help, i'd appreciate paintovers

woah, getting a lot done, getting hard to keep up. The 2 speed paints look really good.

I think the new gun looks really powerful. The image looks really neat just a few odd pieces I'm sure you will get with practice. you could try doing the expressions yourself or getting them from some reference but i think it looks okay.

Hey miycko, thanks for commenting my SB! You've really great paintings here, I instantly loved the "2 sweeps" one. The speed paint videos were great to watch!

Your improvements really show across the pages of your SB! Keep it up! I like your latest work in progress! One thing of the latest update is the gun seems to be the focus of the piece because it stands out- perhaps if you blended it in to the surrounding colours it wouldn't become the subject.

I notice that most of your stuff are ambitious (your characters, settings and composition) and hence rather challenging but it was fun to look through. ^^

Ah, revolver... yes! Now there ya go.

And that guy looks to have just shat himself

I think what's bothered me about her left leg are either the contour lines on the thigh (which sort of suggest non-existent muscles) or the way it goes in to the knee... which doesn't look quite right.

The tendons on the back of the thigh come down in sort of a box shape and hook into the back top of the lower leg right above the gastronemous muscles...

I see the tendon, but as positioned, it looks like her knee is too low. The tendons come through kind of like the end of a box, and the end of the box itself should be where the condyles of the bone (femur) are, as well as the patella. Because of that, I think it looks like her kneecap is about 5 or 6 inches too low.

A higher kneecap would make the calf look better too, IMO.

I think if you got that leg looking right, you'd have a winner.
