NewBorn: MY_OWN_CAGE

hi! =)

I'm -Rom- and I'm really new here!

As I said posting my entry in the "newborn final images" thread, I finished my artwork so late, just in time to have the chance to e-mail it for the contest.
'cause of that I didn't get time to make a wip thread with my piece, during previous days... anyway I'd like to start my first thread here in CA and I think this is the perfect time, showing the final entry, at last.

about my (heavily symbolistic and autobiographical) piece:

MY_OWN_CAGE

Not time, nor space.
The shell of rules and habits I mould my mind with, is the only real limit to overcome,
and finally bring myself to life.

I love the power and symbolism of the piece, the cage being the person's ribcage is also a good, surrealistic touch- the piece is very aptly named! Good striking colourscheme and I like the simplicity.

The only quarrel I'd have is the anatomy of the ribcage; there are approx 9 ribs and a floating rib on each side rather than there being 6 ribs on each side, but hey, it's your piece of artwork and if the girl in your universe has only 6 ribs each side then so be it! That's what artistic license is for!

about ribs:

no, please, I really hate this kind of "licences", so this is not the case. nothing wanted, maybe I only wasn't so clear in paintig the cage.

7 ribs are directly connected with the sternum, the first one (the upper one) is hide under the clavicle. I painted ribs form the 2nd to the 5th one. last two ribs (6th and 7th ones) are thiner and more adjacent starting from the sternum..think they as hiding with the others under the flesh.

uh, hope It can work this way.. and hope my english is comprehensible! =)

That's ok- I didn't see the inner 2 ribs etc. I was just giving some constructive criticism and thanks for pointing that out to me.
Your English is understandable too, so don't worry!
