This image presents a frozen world where the people in it are being thawed, revived and pulled from the ice and snow toward heavenly lights reflected in a partially thawed eye. For those who prefer, perhaps the aliens have come to revive the human race.
This was a fun subject, but hopefully next time I will be able to get an earlier start.
Congratulations to the winners!

Hey,
I thought of some idea for robots, that got self awareness, so they try to make their next generation closer to human [they think it's better for them for some reason]

Hope you like it...

Umm, there might be a glitch with the post ranking thing.
No-one had rated Ludo's post before me, and I rated it ten, and now it says "This post has been rated 10.0 out of 10 with 10 votes."
I've noticed this on other posts, it counts the first rating as the number of votes too.
In case you hadn't noticed.
Really beautiful artwork here guys, spectacular finished peices all round.
I wish you all luck in the competition.

"I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat." - Winston Churchill
The topic Newborn “Bring Something Into the World” or “To Life"
inspired me to design a portrait of Gaea. A goddess from ancient Greek
mythology, she personified the earth and stood as a symbol of
motherhood. Here I have depicted her as a statue born from rocks and
bathed in mist, for water is the source of all life. Beside her grows
an evergreen tree, a symbol of fertility in ancient Celtic culture.
~ Elizabeth Churchill Masters ~
The idea behind my piece is breath from stone; new life from rocks.
Breathing for the first time.

well...
anger/jealousy/bugs/"something not intended to actually work for a vote competition system..."
who knows????
mine got: 4.89189189189 ,not even a 5! makes you feel very humble if it's really working!
...so,let's wait and see...
lol mine got 4.03333333333...but i felt that was deserved as I made a lot of mistakes in my execution...
The above however, does not...
It's like going up to Frank Frazetta and slapping him on the face for being a horrible artist...it just doesn't add up
I've been looking at that entry over and over for the past week just trying to study and analyze it...so maybe I'm just really biased coz I am in love with that piece...hahaha
I've noticed a lot of brilliant pieces not even passing the 5 point mark though, so maybe there is some truth in what you've said...
yeah you have absolutely right!I agree.
Sorry guys I become bad now
The voting in my opinion are not fair for all,I see members playing with the numbers and this is very very humble for my work and for many other artists.I believe that a rightly voting would be supposed to become from experienced artists (judges) and no from simple members.
that's my opinion,
All the best.
Relax guys...
first off this is not the voting thread, its just a thread to see all pics together.
Bad ratings are because right now most of those who rate are the one who participated in the contest and most visitors of CA don't look inside this forum, they all go FF or sketchbook forum.
People just give their competitors a bad rating, its a normal thing for any competition.
Politicians do not vote for others too, they vote them self and in the Olympic games Chinese will not cheer for USA.
You can not make a competition and let the artists them self pick the winner, that does not work of course, but
as stated in the rules that also was never intended.
There will be a new voting thread where everyone on this site will be able to give a vote, most votes will come from observers, those numbers are much larger than the number of people who actually participated. There are always some haters but the majority will do the fair rating (unless you are a big ass and people start rating the artist and not his art)
The results of the voting thread will select the peoples choice winner.
There will be another rating by judges too.
Its all written in the contest info topic for months, come on....
you have seen how the voting/polls worked for older contests, whats all the panic? relax!
Everyone did great

Baron really said it best when he said that you have to look at these things as a bit of fun, and you really have to or you'll go nuckin futs.
Tommy, thanks for being in my corner and being so supportive, I appreciate it!
Im not too worried about winning or losing simply because I didnt enter to do either, it was simply a case of good timing: I had a few days off inbetween gigs and I fell in love with the topic.
The only time I got kinda miffed is when I posted my work in this thread not long after it went up and literally before I could be auto returned to the page after posting someone had rated my work as a 2, and there were only a few people on at the time.
I was just kind of like "huh?..this kind of petty shit at CA?" I was definately caught off guard and didnt expect that.
It boils down to what Randis said: people dont act with integrity in these kinds of things, its human nature - thats not an excuse, its just a fact.
All the more reason to keep your head down and draw your ass off.
Forget about winning or losing and get your head into reaching and working for your full potential.
Now go straight back to your tablets!!
oh, that is why some works I see are under-rated despite their beauty, the message, symbolism, and the effort that the artist exerted to complete it... so far, I always give a rating of 10...
the real newborn winner is this thread![]()
Congrats to all. Some darn good entries. Good luck.

Randis and Cryptcrawler, great words. I feel honored to be part of the competition with artists like you all.
In many angles, events such as this accustoms us to real life with the way things work. But all that matters in the end is that feeling.. that feeling of having accomplished something, of being a part of something, of learning, improving and opening our eyes. That said, regardless of who wins or loses, thank you everyone! and in words of Steve Jobs, "Stay hungry. Stay foolish."
Also remember: Just because ice cream is the most popular item in the grocery store, doesn't mean pineapples aren't delicious........ or something like that....![]()
