Dance of the falling star!
This is the story of a little dragon who's father became 'dragon play' by a group of woods' elves. In this story, as described in some dragon's tales, the mother, after having laid her eggs, has delegated the task of watching over the little one to the male. He was to protect the egg until hatching, and remain with the young cub until he reaches the age of maturity. Unfortunately, naughty elves wanted to have their little fun, thinking it's a really funny thing to scare the dragon out of his breath. However, none can deceive the maternal instinct of a mother. As she storms out to the nest, the father, aware that he has been wronged, can only stare at the little guy who's moking him, frozen. Man he's in trouble!!!!!
Meanwhile, the little guy is hatching sooner than planned by the elves...
Additionnal details
Shape of the tail and rocks : give an accent to the 'storm' representing a rough sea before the storm; not to forget that water represents the maternal womb.
Horns : in the shape of V, it symbolicaly represents the sacred feminine; white is for purity. In other words, the father carries the responsability of the female womb (or baby) as a leader (head) and protector.
Purple color : represents the maternal instinct; also the mental state, worries (in this painting).
The shape of the trees (background) : as if the female's worries, in rage, was a tremendous force, the trees move as if that force was mischapping them, pushing them aside.
Shiny shell (eggs in the nest) : it's not because the egg looks like the dragon that it automatically belongs to the dragon. The true treasure lies inside, and that dragon's mistake will cost him big!
Shiny blue dragon : the guardian, the leading star; blue reprensenting water again, but as its strength.
Purple baby : the fruit of all worries; the newborn star; the true treasure. Hidden under the very nose of his guardian!!!
Message from the painting
Whenever fate lauphs at the face of the guardian child, no matter how far from the maternal nest that child will be, the mother will always be with him, as he is a part of her.
Additionnal informations
This painting was all made in Photoshop. The only tools that were used were brushes (hard, soft and sparkles for the rocks), the blur tool and the moving tool. No copy-paste nor cut from other images. All made up from pure imagination!
Good luck all!!!
Here is my final image guys! This is the One who created the clouds, and much more. He's a busy guy. His paints are the actual elements He is painting, and as His brush guides the skies, it has a raking light that we can only imagine!
All of the submissions look fantastic. Great job everyone!
Yeah it wasn't about winning or loosing for me either...
It was more of a respect thing...
I know this isn't the actual polls, but these forums are known to be filled with very respectful and supportive people...
and when I saw pieces that I really think are exceptional being ranked really low, I just saw it as something petty and felt a little sick to my stomach...lol
Thanks again for being an inspiration...I'm still studying your entry...lol
I'm sorry i didn't see this thread before the deadline. I emailed my final images to the email address stated in the sticky. Am I still in the contest?
