Hi! Welcome to CA!
i think you've got a nice piece here and i like the colors you used on the sky and the..father...hairy guy. (dont know what you want to call him) i'd like to know what he is defending the baby from tho. Right now i imagine a teeny tiny little green grasshopper. hehe
It seems kinda flat in the way of colors/contrast to me tho, and the father hairy-guy-yet-to-be-named looks more like he's laughing with a club in his hands than like he's about to kill someone.
If you pull down his brow some more and either tilt his head up or down,change his posture a bit more defensive ..maybe change the way the lips are into more of a growl (look at mebbe pics of wolves,bears,gorillas snarling for ref) that will help to show some more fierce force and anger issues.
