    El sketchbook de blau

Here are some studies I've been doing:

A quick (like an hour) self portrait with a mirror

And a couple of environments. My first.

Bouguereau study, almost 4 hours so far. I guess it would be good to do an original one with a similar palette.

    Yo, Team CHOW buddy!

That Bouguereau study isn't showing up for me, but your environments are looking awesome and your faces are pretty strong. Good stuff

    Hey Blau,
Great atmosphere in your latest chow, the spot colouring works really well.
You create a nice balance of soft and hardness in the portraits here in your sketchbook. I reckon Your figurative work is stronger than your environments, but the backgrounds show good understanding of composition and tonal range. I believe you're on the right track with studying masters such as Bouguereau, mainly for analysing painting technique - a fresh look at how someone else applies the paint to the canvas to create desired effects.
