I like the mood and the classic feel.
i like the line work, the flow of the trees gives the image a nice touch somehow,
tho I feel like the color rough lost some touch and flow. The other image is more organic imo.
Is that a baby with a monkey tail?

Randis your entries are sick!!!
Thanks for checking mine out, yeah, the color came first, just so when it comes time to color the linework it's already there, gonna spend more time drawing than coloring/rendering, and I think it's a dragon baby.
Well, here's my linework, just gotta color it now. Any comments or things standing out as wrong, let me know!!
Well, here's my final, can't wait to see them all and VOTE!!
brilliant colors... I like it...
It is a really great piece. The line work is awesome and the colors that you chose really work very well together. Great job!!

The picture to me is dynamic..when i see it it appeals to me as if the man with the sword is actually moving...Great work!!
LOVE the illustrative quality, very Rackham, and very, very lovely.
Good luck!

Agreeing with everyone else, that is really a lovely, well done image.
Your figures have a great feel of motion. the one with the sword--i can really imagine the sound of the sword moving and his feet crunching and clincking down on the ground....the woman-- i could hear her sort of gasping or breathing heavy.. i love her posture and how she is clinging to the baby.
Excellent excellent excellent.

I flipped through the 'finished images' post and found this and stopped. The best of the bunch imo. It has the most story behind it and really pulls the viewer in.
Just an opinion (and I know it's too late) but it may have been more 'shocking' if the baby wasn't a dragon (although I like the little dragon hand pulling on her hair). Then we may have wondered why the baby needed to be destroyed.
Regardless. Good luck. I'll definitely be voting for this one.
Cool thanks for checking my pic out. Yeah, I could have left the baby mysterious but I liked the curl of the tail, it's supposed to be the focal point. So how does this contest work, do we vote...![]()
