I liked it better when it was called little mermaid
Go Nironeru! I'm philipino too, Philippines rules!!!! ^___^
The sea creatures look wonderful. I'm guessing you either know them really well, or used reference. The figure, as the focal point of the picture, could benefit from some references - why not get a female friend to pose for a photograph?
Looking nice. Can't wait to see more!
Im sorry but your style is very disney.
and she looks exactly like aeriel (or however its spelled). You can color her anyway you wish, but its what I see, and If I see it others are bound to see it as well.
I think you should heed my advice and figure out a way to either play on the concept that it is very disney, or change it in such a way as to remove the thought of disney or little mermaid distinctions from the piece all together.
Or you can tell me to take a hike and continue doing what you are doing. It is after all your idea and I am just a simple minded viewer spewing forth an opinion that has no bases in reality....
right?
good luck.
nic e use of colour, the fish looks like it's black & whit though, like it's unfinished, but it could just be me. good work![]()

Well, what feels weird to me is the sand and the mermaid torso. You gotta work on the colors of her torso, study skin tones and really paint the sand, cause it seems like a blanket to me... well that`s my opinion. But that was a good composition, nice idea!
the sand still looks blanketish..
I am not really sure how to address it... I mean I see what you are trying to do with the sand but something is making it more blankety...
I think her hand would have to be in the sand to be pushing it, so maybe thats a fix for the hand, but i cant figure out the rest.
lots of cool stuff going on here. I like your fish and especially your turtle quite a bit. I think the blacks you used to block in the shadows on the figure are working against you, though. A warm brown or a dull blue would have probably served you much better. Something to try out next time you set in to work on something like this. Black is rarely a good way to darken things, especially things that are supposed to look alive.
celestial baby. lets see how you render this one![]()
