Some of these entries are phenominal! Really pleased with the turnout.
First one here is my Newborn entry for the Creature of the Week, the next are my wips for my entry here.

1.one
I really like this it is kinda comical and cute and I really liked the idea of them starting out as two separate lifeforms then joining into one I did note that the egg was empty in the fetus stage but full of goo in the embryo and newborn stage.

2.one
I think I see the story. the newborn is the last hope of humanity/the country/the city but the monsters are out to kill him.
but I think it would be clearer if the monsters looked as if they where looking directly at the newborn rather then at the mothers back and into the distance
maybe if the monster on the left was leaning over the mother and looking down

bah! enough rambling on my part
they both look better than anything I can presently do...(at least with cg art ^-^)

Thanks for the input guys. Kind of hard to get people to comment these days but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Probably should leave more comments for others....need to work on that.

Anyway, did some serious adjusting rearranging so on and so forth and this is where I'm at. Thanks for looking!

Wow, three wips in a row and still no feedback. Guess I shoulda mentioned this earlier but I'd love to hear what you think. Good or bad. Anyway, chugging along.

I think that this is probably one of the more frightening images done for this contest. 0o And that your fire looks a little bit solid. I'm also a bit confused by the buildings behind the (what I'm assuming is) Devil and the attire of your humans. The city, currently, appears to be modern and almost American, but your people are dressed in old and/or outlandish clothes. They hardly match the scenery.
As for the devil, I like his face now, but I think that maybe you should make it have some lighter shadows like it did the the previous image. Just not as much.
I like the eclipse and I think it would stand out more if you brightened the ring of light. It also carries a sort of symbolic quality.
And...his left shoulder and arm seem a bit bulky (the shoulder on the right side of the image).

Sorry if I wrote too much. ^^; I guess that's a lot of crits all at once.
But I look forward to watching this image improve! Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the honest advice FalyneVarger, it really comes in handy and is very very appreciated. One more update before bed. Trying to get as many crits in as possible before color.

Wow, very cool piece. So much mood in it.

Anyway, I like the story and the execution, but I think the composition can use some work.

I think the couple is way too insignificant. Perhaps you can add something to point to the couple.

Anyway, just a though, keep up~

I didn't like the child and mother in any except the most recent b&w
though I think it would be more emotional without the gun-man loving
the monsters now seem focused and overall awesome real improvement from the original

Love where uv gone with the final, the ray from the baby damaging the demon gives the viewer an obvious sense of how valuable it is and makes it therefore fit with the fact that this huge thing is chacing it. The lighting is awsome. The mother a child seems very much like mary n jesus kinf of imigary.
