Spartan Camp #95 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Motion figure study"

Spartan Camp #95 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Motion figure study"
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 12th of July.

    - The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or naked. Specifics are up to you!

    - In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional Study of "Motion figure study", in any media.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study: Referenced study of a figure in motion. Think flow, balance, tension, movement. Flexed muscles. Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you!

50 poses is a challenge, but don't hurry or stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practicing is the main goal of this exercise.

Critting each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference and resources!! Let's help each other get better!

Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!

Heh, I didn't think we'd make hall of fame with drawing less than the required 50

I tried the posemaniacs thing, and I got really caught up and ended up drawing a LOT. I don't think they are very good
I guess that means do 500 more, right? :3
I am not so accustomed to drawing a whole pose in 30 seconds, I guess it's a good kick in the butt. It was also inspirational, I suspect doing 10 minutes of posemaniacs before working on a piece is good warmup, what do you think?

krisCrash; Anyone who makes an effort does! Can't give you anything special though
I agree with your take on posemaniacs. I think they are good for quick sketches, warmups, practising some proportions, tough angles, quick observation. That sort of thing. I wouldn't advice doing longer, in-depth studies on posemaniacs. I've heard some complaints on it too. Posemaniacs' anatomy and lighting seem limited, in a way. I usually start off with posemaniacs as a general warmup, and then move on to 'real' ref.
Yours are looking nice. Fluent, good proportion mostly. 30secs is tough. Head size and shape seem to be suffering the most. They are sometimes on the small side, also last week. Perhaps something to look into! Nice to see you're applying construction lines in some of those sketches, especially on that timer. You're doing good at capturing the main shapes and forms. Keep it up!

Trying to get better at clothing. Couple of gestures became longer studies. Will do the optional later.

I know I'm late with posting, but I drew them in the last week... an accident yesterday changed my plans, but I have only a cracked bone in my right hand and not even in the 3 fingers I use for drawing... I run away before anyone could plaster my hand (saying it's broken, but I'm pretty sure the person who made xray knows better, I feel it's no big deal), so I will do this activity in the next weeks too! I'll have more time, unable to drive a motorbike.

I bought an Intuos3 A4 Oversize tablet and my problems with digital drawing ceased to exist no more crappy shots anymore [only a carefully done better photo about a detailed pencil drawing now and then, maybe]

shiNIN; Hah, some story! I hope you're right about that hand. Though from what I hear it should not be too bad. Congratulations on your tablet. It will be a breaktrough once you start getting used to it. Which can take a while, so don't worry if it doesn't quite feel ok yet. I'm still clumsy with mine.
Nice clothed figures. Trying to practice those myself and find it tough to visualize a clothed figure in 3d. Good job on the wrinkles in the (big) top right figure's clothing. Also, the male with the hat has some pretty accurate proportions. Nice going!
