Okay.....stop painting or even rendering, focus entirely on gesture and structure, I know it can be annoying, but it W-O-R-K-S.
Keep it up!

Ok ill try some excercises. I guess you were talking about my linequality. I did already got an excellent excercise on it from school.
Mission : design a centaur that should be able to excist in the world of Juna Gimenez. Give it some armour, weaponry from the darkage. And make sure it gets a lot of ornaments. The animal he rides on can be chosen. I took a jaguar. But i'm not 100% sure, i'll try it on some other animals later. At the end we need an A3 sketch with that gives all the information needed to start moddeling. Ok heres some studywork. tell me what you think!
Thru here Dave.
I've put the knight on a few different animals I think i'm going for the giraffe
Thru here Dave.
Here's the giraffe centaur. To bad some things dont come out as I wanted them with pencil. But i'll probably make a digital render one of these days.
Thru here Dave.
Ok here comes me paint of that centaura. I painted it one bit at a time although it took me some. Enjoy comments will be apprectiated and probably added in time.

Looks like you have a nice sketchbook too and you really made some obvious progress concerning your drawing skills. This, combined with a favor for weird creatures and a bit of nudity and I promise you will have a great future here at CA!!!
Greets, Colt!!!![]()
Hehe, as they say: A bit of nudity a-day keeps the docter away.

Some new stuff. First some speedpaints. I think it was 1 hour for that star wars scene and 45 minutes for the other. The only thing i learned is that is should learn to work with textures and experiment more. Does anyone got know some good speedpaint tutorials? Than theres some live model digi paints. I think the first was 10 min second 15 min third 20 min. Anywayz enjoy!

Incredible progress! I like the anatomy sketches, make more more more...
Thanks for visiting my sketchbook, I'll be back.
Thx Keviin!
I'm currently envolved in a contest presented by Evolve Cg. called: The hunter challenge.
I'm looking for the ultimate hunter. I'm gonna post some of my progress here. I hope to get some good crits. My hunter is a lion hunter:
He was born in thailand (600), He's not so big and heavily built but like most thai fighters his strength is not in muscles but in techique. He learned fighting from when he was a kid. At the age of ten the chinese started burgling and plundering in all of thaïland, so he had to flee to India. As the patriot he got raised to be, he started killing lions wich were seen as the mythical protectors of China in defense of his country.
... And this is where I am now:

And here are some quick designs of some crazy people. Who during the french revolution lifted up paris with zeppelins and all te steampower they had. They are flying 200 years around the globe living only on that small piece of paris they could take in the air... Updates on this will come very soon!
Thru here Dave.
Ok here's a modelsheet of the character i picked (the little girl). No i've been looking a day to long on two of the designs I made. So some help with picking one would be lovely! Which one do you prefer?
the style should be a little wicked colorfull. It's a steampunk scene with some modern fashion influences like Galliano.

Here's my first zbrush assignment. Sculpting a famous head. Anybody who recognises him?
I did had some trouble for the rendering. When i put the render options to best, the shadowareas were defined by some muddy dark areas. Havent figured out what it is though.
Thru here Dave.
You've improved a lot compared with the first posts!
Keep it up!
Thx LP, I appreciate it!!!
I seem to have lost my ca password (the babysdevilware one) So I will be using this one for a while. Maybe I'll find it back someday :d. Here's a quick update. It took two hours to finish. Unfortunately its been a while since i painted. Its still quick and dirty. I'm probably gonna work on it some more, there are still some proportional/paining mistakes. I do want to keep it a little woozy though.
I'm doing some pencil/marker sketches too lately. I'll post them in a while, but first... Exams! Wish me luck
.

as I told you a few hours ago: I like your style man, keep it up
and good luck with the exams![]()
Hey Kevin, like I said before; I really like your selfportrait, don't want to meet you in a dark place or something like that withe a face like thatYou define the shapes of your face very good, thumbs up!
Cheers!
thx Jonas and Sandeir. I think I look like Rocky Balbao there. Sjeez i wouldnt want to meet myself either in a dark place looking like that.
I've been terribly lazy and i haven't found the... uhm... energy? to upload anything. Here's a quick upload of a short vid i made. You might recognize the character, the environment is a mattepaint I used. You might recognise "Le notre dame", I didn't broke it down with a sledge hammer for the mattepaint, but I used photoshop. Enjoy!

@rowzzr: thx for the advice. I've looked through a bunch of andrew loomis books and they are indeed very helpfull.
@tomdevis: How nice to see you heren not that i dont see you enough already![]()
. Liked your sketchbook!
Ok I'm back with a few updates. It's time for me to start drawing a lot more. I don't have these classes anymore in school. And i kinda miss them...
Firtst off a character paint+GifWip
And then a (very quick and rough) character design + the character in 3D.
zbrush...
And a simple character i did a while ago to keep the practicing going
I really really dig the paint of the weirdo with his duck
he's freakin' awesome and the style is 'vetgeil'
en uw character is ook de max, maar da zeg ik al iedere les^^
einstein is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thx for the kind words sandeir!
1,5h Rembrandt study... Ofcourse not even remotely as good as the master...
I like the various eye sketches. I always have trouble with it when I am sketching.
Seeing a lot of improvement. Nice 3D.
@mattfelton: Draw a hundred eyes and the problem should get out of the way!
@hippl5: Thx man!
