I hadn't even seen the last few posts you put up here! Your badass-ness is ever evolving into even MORE badass-ness. It's an honor to know you.

i like how you get a lot of character into your cartoony style.
the studies look good too, i admire the sketchy pencil work![]()
I love seeing your progress; there's a sharper focus and a sense of experimentation with the rhino head that's missing from your earlier digital work.![]()
My Sketchbook.

I admit that I don't usually try and work for photo realism. even when life drawing I go for the correct proportions and shading but usually end up with a face that is only semi realistic, or formed soy ou the viewer has just enough information to identify it. so this I guess is new for me. I haven't tried full blown portraits in awhile. that being said this is still a work in progress. and appreciate any feed back. I am definitely not fully satisfied with it yet.

there's nothing like a rough week to really let your artistic juices flow freely.
here's an insensitive ass......talked to WAY too many of them lately.

I really enjoy your drawing style. I am also glad that you chose to do some realistic portraiture. I hope you see the benefit in drawing from life. It will add to your stylized works in the end

Hey moosepaws,
Love your stuff. Great practicing human anatomy, and your creatures are fantastic. Also I'm liking the frankenstein painting a bunch.
Keep up the good work.

this still needs lots of work but I thought I'd post it anyway. It's done after an old photo portrait by David Haggard.
my sketchbookgigiddy http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=162261
the progress is looking great, but if you'd like some critique, i'd say work on pushing your values and really defining a source of light, and even drop shadows on your creatures and figures, i.e the one with the rabbit and the bird.
even if you're not going for realism it would make your images pop a lot, and give it a more illustrated feel, shrug. just my 2 cents
keep up the hard work though, and drop by my book sometime
cheers
another quick sketch.

Cool update. Im diggin' the value studies and lifedrawings. It reminds me I need to do that more!
Good on ya, keep this thing updated!!!!
I always sketch. more so than I post just because sometimes I'm too lazy to scan things.
and I try to do all the right things, draw from observation, draw things I'm not used to, draw human anatomy.
HOWEVER
despite all of these things lately I feel stuck with my art work. I feel like I'm not pushing it far enough. I'm not happy with it. It's too.....usual?
my question is...to whoever reads this.
what do YOU do when you get stuck? what do you do to push past the hump of not loving things to get that part where you really FEEL everything you do?
I need suggestions. I feel like I am in an art rut.
my sketchbookgigiddy http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=162261
