it is an illustration on paper of the book "the hobbit" from jrr tolkien (quite rough and not fully finished). i love that bookso nice. i think it is the first book i read with pleasure.
here there are a solid snake portrait and a portrait done to a frame of a man in the movie "burn after reading" i just liked his face in that frame![]()
there are a copy of a digitalpaint from an unknown artist and a copy of a drawing from hugo pratt ( artist of corto maltese) i did when i was at the hospital.all done with colored pencils on paper.
Hey zanna there's some cool things going on here my favourite is probably the portrait of the boy, If I was to give you some advice I would tell you to concentrate much more on life drawing at this stage. Perhaps look at anatomy artists such as Andrew Loomis are fairly accessible. Even though this may sound boring if you put the work in it will definitely pay off in the future. Good start to your sketchbook I hope to see more.
just a pear ( my first digital painting)
here's a portrait with ref im working on
here i checked somethings in proportions and i continued working on it. resized it .. still wip.. thinking on a nice style for the background..
i started studying andrew loomis's figure drawing and here's my first exercise and an apple no ref![]()
Hi Zanna, good to see you started studying Loomis: his books are a great help. Keep going!
tnxive found a place where you can read all loomis books for free on the net
here it is:http://fineart.sk/index.php?cat=1
here's a digital paint of a strange bottle i found on the top of a high furniture in my kitcheni think it was once used to make brisk water.
here it is the (maybe) final version of the portrait i was working on
here's something i dont really know what it is
Zanna mate, you're 16.
You're looking in the right places. Loomis.
The values will get there, of course. Just keep your eyes and mind open at all times.
Pencil to paper. Always.
Learn how to squint to simplify what you're lookin at. This blocks in the values to your retina. Keep aware of the lightest lights, and the darkest darks. And constantly compare
how the other values measure next to those strong ones.
You're doing still life. Awesome.
Perspective. Gaaaah, that devil. Please learn it.
As long as your mind is open, and you know what you're reaching for, it makes it that much easier.
-You could do value studies everyday. Even just small 2inchx2inch thumbnails trains/helps immensely.
-Keep a sketchbook in the back pockets. Who cares if it makes your ass look big, some girls like that.
16, 6, 5, I like them. I remember that pear. [Don't eat it if it was suppose to be green. Ha!]
I may not always be around, but I will always be learning along with you and everyone around this place.
There's so many things to go through man. But like I've mentioned, first 5 links on my sig.
In fact, the whole learning section has so many gems.
Keep your eye out for those gem knowledge drops too. There's a few hidden here and there.

[Wow, now that's a rant, eh?] The next one's will be shorter. No promises. Blaaaaah.
Neat start, just keep at it!

NICE!
i see you're doing still life, anatomy and digital painting! my favourite combination!! hehe
and i think loomis is great! i shall do his studies too very soon
about the pear, i think for a first painting is really good!! blocked in well, vivid colours, and nice mood, really!
and a pear is pretty rough textured object for a first try i'd say
keep at it cuzz you're good~
dwardo, mischeviouslittleelf, blackelphin, thanks! here there are some more sketches fresh of today. one from an image two from life and a weird seminude guy from imagination![]()
here continue my loomis figure drawing studies
Lin Ranthumbs up fer doing hands ... i'm holding that off as the last body part.
And I always like women to have wider hips than their shoulders.
Unless I'm doing Bo Derek, and you don't ever question those numbers. She's hot.
Bridgman is good also ... do a search in archive.org
If you find gold in archive.org, please do tell. K?
Keep those visions flowing marco and everyone 'round here. ya hear. (Southern drawl) click bang!
you mean bridgman life drawing right? i searched "bridgman" on archive.org but i got nothing. anyway.. i also thought thos hips where too small but it was an exercise on the standad body proportions... i copied it as it was, i think loomis knew what he was doingyou have to explain me what "lin ran" means

Lin Ran ... on my sig, first link.
Funny , I had to add George in the search input ... I hope they fix that in their searcg script.
http://www.archive.org/search.php?qu...rge%20bridgman Constructive Anatomy, but if you got 'Life drawing' already, physical copy, all the better.
thanks a lotcan you believe that i had already read lin rans tutorial and didnt remember what lin ran was
anyway.. heres an update
I've only started thinking about using construction lines and indicator lines before
going full on with a sketch and what what.
Marc, don't be afraid to use lighter values and build them up.
I'm somewhat in the middle, I'm mostly mid tones and none of the extremes.
I'm trying very hard though.
oooo ImagineFX on my sig ... I'm chomping through those whenevah I can.
*Van Dam straight leg kick short of your forehead.
Give me your lunch. hehehe.
tnx! ill take a look at itactually, is there a way to make a lighter value than this? the paper of the sketcbook im drawing on is yellow!
maybe there are some white pencils that works?
SNAKE!!! , keep up the work more studies from life
