the piracy issue and conceptart.org's right to report on it.
I wanted to take a very brief moment to address three things.
It is the right of conceptart.org to protect it's content within the laws of the united states. Doing so keeps this community free, open, and blossoming. It is all our duty to protect the rights of our own work. Without that, all of our work is value-less and we might as well go to work at a factory.
CA is an industry media site, just like any industry news site in that it reports on many art and entertainment related matters, including piracy. NO PRIVATE INFORMATION is posted during such reporting, nor will there be. Only publicly available information has been posted.
Those doing illegal piracy have been warned in the videos, warned in this community, and warned in individual threads in the video sections. These warnings have all been very public and every single person who watches the videos are aware that the uploading of CA owned content is against the law. CA reserves the right to report on such important matters at it's discretion.
As any news related media site may report on those who break the law, CA shall continue to do so until all pirates remove CA owned videos from the torrent sites.
If a CA member was stealing the work of the artists here on the site, and selling it on the internet, using it to get jobs, or using it for other reasons the owners were not happy with, it could be reported on as well, as has been the case multiple times in the past.
CA will continue to report on matters important to the community and will protect artist rights to the fullest extent of the law.
Thanks for reading.
