Since the feedback I got was it looked too "CG" I went ahead and painted it -- any thoughts?
Pros:
I like the action of this. I like the look on his face and the detail of his mouth and the bullets riddling his shoulder.
Cons:
His left hand is too small & his wrist is broken. The muscles of his left arm, forearm, look as if they're falling back onto the biscep, as if not attached to his wrist. The skin texture is more fluid than skin-ish(my word).
Cutting him off at the feet is a short coming. Push him back into the scene so he feels more grounded.
Really like the hair's flow.
USEFUL STUFF!

To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."-John Huston, Director
If you ask me, it looks too smooth. I would try to add some skin texture, veins, dirt and marks or scars. In general it's a good picture I think. Give it a try and try some variations.
The Incredible Hulk and his Incredible junk sack! lol I like it but the skin seems too baby-like. Even regular human skin is a little wrinkly, with more texture.
It is abit too smooth for my tastes, but my main concern is the pose.
It doesn't say anything to me, I'm not even sure what he's meant to be doing.
Plus, from our viewpoint, he is being attacked from behind but basically ignoring them - I (personally) think he needs to be glancing or turning towards them in some way.

Yeah, in retrospect maybe some of the decisions I made were not the right ones -- for instance my reasoning is since the Hulk isn't really exerting himself in the particular pose he should not be totally ripped with every muscle and vein popping out... and the smooth skin would be a function of both his skin being harder (as in impenetrable as far as bullets are concerned) as well as completely self regenerating so that no scarring is possible. The baby skin analogy was exactly what I was going for...My logic may be correct, but logic does not make for an exciting picture I think.
I also think the "retro" type look I was going for is not really working for anybody either -- I'm sculpting a Wolverine right now that I'll post when done but I think it might look even more "retro" and even less exaggerated...
Thank-you all for the feedback.
Best,
Jason.
