I realize these are sketches but there needs to be more definition of the lids and the inside (medial) corner of the eye. Hard edges around the iris too, and the pupil in the center.
Your sketchbook is very inspiring. I can't really make any suggestions, just keep on doing what you're doin!
FEED THE SKETCHBOOK
Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Nobody made good art by coloring in between the lines.
Many Great stuff in Here and like the Name of your sketchbook says, keep going
wilkerson - thank you for the tips! i worked some more on the eyes today, and took into consideration your pointers.
AeonPhoenix - thank you, good luck with your drawing!
twelvex - will do, thanks!

Thank you so much for the help on colours, highly appreciated =]
Your eye studies seem really solid! Your last figure though, her leg kind of looks like it is a goats leg the way it bends.
Keep up the great work =]
V3T- thanks yes, you are right about the leg. I always tend to emphasize that curve when I do this particular pose xD
thanks for the input! and it was my pleasure, hope it helped
Trying to use more the hard round.

Great studies. I really admire the way you are blocking in this last piece. It really captures the essence in simple strokes. Very inspiring since I am concentrating a lot on figure drawing lately. I will check back often to see how you're doing![]()

joshbailey - thank you, your comment made me smile, and made me draw some more. I wish you succes with your studies!
A few more sketches before bed. Trying out a new way of sketching over the construction shapes. I like the results.

nice stuff, those eye studies are looking great!
curious to see how your paintings would look if you tighten them up a bit( like the eye studies)
Keep on grinding!
pgf95 - i'm still trying to figure out how the hard round brush really works. i intend to do that once i figure it out, thanks.
SpaceJelly - thank you for the comment, very motivating. good luck with your studies, you have some awesome stuff in your sketchbook as well!
Seems I figured out how to sketch better in photoshop with the hard round brush. Yey!
And remember the old Noah Bradley portrait studies? I tried doing it again. Love the new result!

Hey there fellow Ro kin
Really good studies. You're developing a very nice sense of form and volume.
Curious to see some polished imagination pieces from you.
Trage tare!![]()
Great diligence with the studies. All I can say is keep going and try to do a piece from imagination every now and then to check how well you can implement those studies.![]()
Sleep.less - thanks! that would be interesting, an imagination peace that is. i'll work more on my confidence and then i will
jondawo - i see everyone's emphasizing the imagination peaces, well ok then, i'll do a few. thanks for the input!
More portrait study. Those noses give me a hard time. I should study them more.

Nice legs and feet. You should try your hand at coming up with a character or something, I think you could do it
I am assuming you want to be an illustrator or a concept artist, so practicing that sort of thing would be the next logical step.

Wow I just love all the great live studies especially the leg and feet ones a couple posts back are really great.

AeonPhoenix - thanks for the comment, will do.
jellyswirl - thank you! i've particularly concentrated on those lately
Sean McClain - thank you for the motivation boost, i will keep drawing!
inaren - i am happy you can see the progress! the eyelids were one of my weaknesses,
and eyes in general so i did a bunch. it was a pleasure visiting your sketchbook, keep drawing!
Stuff from this weekend
Added colour and a background to that imaginary peace. 2nd one also from imagination.
So the first two images are entirely from imagination..i like the fact that i can actually draw without ref
without trying so hard. So I'll have to push that limit again.

From life. I went overboard and used all saturated tones, both dark and bright.
It was difficult making highlights. Never again..

ConceptART is up again! And I like my new sketching style!

aand i figured out how to combine construction with linework better.

So many pages of studies , awesome stuff and gestures and styles. @_@. I admire the work you've done up until now. I will have to check all pages 1 by 1 to see the evolution more clearly.
The animals look great in the last one. Very clean line when it comes to linework.
Keep working and fighting !Good to see so much determination and inspiration. I'm pumped
.
Please visit , comment , rate and crit me. I will appreciate it and I like making friends.
Thank you for visiting.
Really wonderful sketchbook! I admire the variety of your studies and the hard work you put into them! Especially the landscapes in 1225 look great!
Great updates Cris!.
I did say this in the past, but you excel in colour work, you have this natural gift of simply feeling it out.
Now it took me a few years to finallt get it, but when it comes to learning pencil and paper are your best friends, so try to do less digitally and more traditionally.
You can focus on some aspects, one at a time. Like countour drawing, shading ( or painterly drawing with only values, no lines ) etc etc. But it's crucial and it does wonders.
Drawing in P.S is both very unnanutural, ( unless you own a Cintiq that is ) and very forgiving, you can change any thing on the fly.
When you take a pen and try to aproach a portrait with it, you slow down and think more, before commiting to that final mark.
I'm sure you are aware of all this, but sometimes it's good to remind yopurself the principles. Have a great day !
Hai - well here's a familiar face I haven't seen in a while! Thank you, and here are some more
landscape sketches I've done. Keep drawing and keep getting better!
Rostas - thank you, those are some really nice, motivational words you are saying
si am sa iau in calcul studiile in spatiu negativ, multumesc!
- nat - - i'm surprised you like those landscapes, i don't consider much of them, and
the compositionis not much either. but heck, i'm glad you like it. lets do some more!
Icecold - here's one face I wan't expecting to read from today, hey Ice, good to see you stopping
by here again! and as usual with helpful hinters, thanks! I know you're right in what you say, and i've done
to little traditional studies lately especially because i can chill in photoshop, not worry so much.
guess i'm in a big comfort zone now, huh? - will have to work on that, thanks!
Female face from imagination
Some more animal studies,
And landscapes.Sketches this time, studies after loomis work.
