Hello all, I've been drawing on and off for many years. In the last 3 years I've (semi-seriously at times) taken up learning some of the fundamentals after discovering CA (yes, lurking for so long but finally decided to get down to business). However my art "crazes" are somewhat sporadic (inconsistent) due to school, work, and other distractions. So I've decided to use this sketchbook after joining CA as a commitment to this hobby/learning process/skill

A lot of the women you draw look freakishly skinny at the waist. : O It may just be your style, but if it is, I'd tone it down on some. Though in certain situations it seems to strengthen the pose, in others it just looks strange and inhuman.

That digital portrait is very nice. Almost photo worthy in some areas. ♥ Keep posting.

Maybe it would be helpfull for you studying how your favourite artists draw humans. How do they draw eyes and proportions?

would like to see some studies, get that anatomy under your belt and it will really improve ur work, I am noticing hands are looking very drawn from ur mind, try using some reference and looking at Bridgman, helped me a ton and I still use studies everyday .

Good work! I'm especially fond of the last one; everything there looks pretty much awesome and it's great to see it step-by-step. I too recommend doing some life-drawing and figure studies. As mentioned before, a lot of your figures have too-small waists and too-large hips, and some of your portraits seem a bit "off" in regards to placement of the eyes or nose.

Keep at it! I can't wait to see more!

Great work, that last digital piece is wonderful. I have the same complaint about your female figures, itz hard to tell whether itz ur style or u drew it wrong proportionally. U should make it more obvious in some way, maybe clean it up or rework it. LOL I dunno, but nice work anywayz, post more

Melfey: Yep, unfortunately, some of their pieces are semi-stylized. I think I'll go back to the basics first.

Ghostbrush: Working on them , Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life was a good reference and anatomy source, as is Loomis I think

DaStreets: Some anatomy was intentionally distorted, some by observation, some just simple mistakes on my part due in part to developing bad habits. Working on fixing those bad habits now ;0

Hey! I really like your digital portraits (I got that it was the Law and Order:CI guy from your third shot ). I also love how you have some violin studies. I should do some of that -- it's never come to mind! Do you play as well?
Just try doing some anatomy studies of the human body to fix a few things up. :3 I'll subscribe and see where you go.

Great arm studies! Be sure to do some arm studies attached to the torso, because it's an almost completely different story. Looking forward to more, and glad that the violin stayed with you in your other fields of art.

ohnojenny: Thanks, yea the torso-arm connection isn't so bad, insomuch as what parts are showing. I've seen some crazy-ass anatomy with armpits before if the arm is raised above the head.

strings: Yea, I've always enjoyed the sound of classical music, especially from the strings sections. Other nice gems include some technical performances from paganini, among others.
