Hello , My name is Cerasela.
i wanted to start a sketchbook and post the stuff i do here, when i have the time.
I welcome all critiques.

The saddle took me about 1.5 weeks, size A2, pencil 3b, F, H on paper
The folds still life took me about 3 weeks, size A1, pencil F-6b on paper

Good to see you on again!

Like I said before, I like how you decided to portray the saddle in your latest project. A lot of work was put into this and they turned out really good. Your use of shadow, and darks still need some work but there was good improvement between the Folds and Saddle project.

The one thing that really interests me though is the sketch of the person from observation. Would be interesting to see more studies like that as well.

@Cole hey thank you too , you will never guess what a task i got now lol, thanks i learned smth on contrast again , and you are quite right with the shadow, i try to make the new task better.

Only a little update for now ,
i tried charcoal for the first time in class , the first piece was horrible but the second went a bit better , i think i will use charcoal also more often.
and yes i´m not good with anatomy , i need more studies ;P

Hello hello.

Fun working with charcoal! Good work, Especially for your first time. Looks like all the drawing from life is paying off, and You already show some good control. The only advice I have at the moment is to be careful with your hard edges and how you place them. Instead, try to vary the widths or be selective on where you want a hard line. The picture will tend to look flat if you don't. Even if you were going for a more graphical look, I believe it is still important to be selective in order to focus the viewers eyes on how you want them to see the subject. You show good potential, work work work! Actually, remember what I said about that

Love the pencil drawings; the sense of form is great. I also particularly enjoy the charcoal drawing and I hope you'll continue to work in charcoal; it's a really wonderful medium once you get to know it ^^

Like I said before that digital portrait came out nice, especially with how you placed your highlights and the selectiveness of defining the hair (nice touch). Your personal style seems to start showing itself in your sketches, or at least what you like to concentrate on. Out of these recent sketches the woman you drew seems to stand out the most. You did something right, there. Keep up the good work.

Hey Cera. Long time no talk, huh?

Your schooling is paying off, glad to see it.

The biggest complaint I have here is that in a lot of your drawings you use values that are really close together on the value scale, and it's making it hard to read some things, especially with the saddle and some of the close-up shots.

Nice nice... I think those sketches have a nice "flow" in them. Although I must agree with Sepulverture. It was kinda hard to say these are flowers. But when I look at your first post again, it shows you're capable of placing good highlights/shadows ranges. So just keep an eye on it. And update more

Haha I like the drawing of the man sleeping, reminds me of the life sketches you'd see from an animator at Disney cause it shows good control, and has personality.
With some of your fast studies I'd say try loosening up a bit to get some major shapes laid out in longer strokes, which could help with showing/understanding weight and mass of your subject.
I don't think I need to tell you to keep working hard .

Wow... pencil drawing at A1 sized paper? I thought I had a lot of patience but I think you beat me at that one!
It's funny to see such difference between anatomy, still life. Good that you see it yourself too!
I like the folded piece at A1 the most, the light is beautifully captured .
Maybe more midtones?

@Marlisa , thank you very much ;O) , yes you are right with midtones , i realized that for myself earlier , its not only midtones its more that i have still a repeatable and static way to draw, i have to control more action and break play in tones and lines. ,i had also a long time fear to loose things up in drawing or better to just work with the eye and let the hand follow,i work on it!!!!! thx

Servus too! so... you liked timisoara? nice studies, that drawing on a1 is great, you have some rendering technique, i like glen vilppu rendering for humans, you must google him, for me his renderings was great! i like big size paper too, a1 i very impressive first time)

i´m sorry i have only experiments to offer ;O) , school life starts again at the end of september for me , anyway i decided to make a book full of selfpotraits , one every day ,
98 sites , in different traditional media ,here the first in pencil , also a ciao copic experiment , and some quick acrylics 10-15 min from life .

I was over the weekend in Berlin , it was impressive , i totally got lost ,actually.
I wanted to go to the kulturbrauerei , where the atelier and school moved but at the end i had to pay a taxi....

anyway a pair of self-potraits now, well not quite accurate but i had fun ;P will upload life-drawing stuff and the other selfpotrait at the weekend ....

Good idea with the self portraits, the last two are an interesting change compared to the others. Would be nice to see you keep it up with the variety in each one. Take your time with each one, can't wait to see how far you got when you end up with 100!

Yup, the pineapple is really good. When you draw people your lines are not so good as your volumes/shapes. Keep practicing, I have that problem too, much worse than you I think, I've pretty much given up on lines by now
