Hey CA!
I'm not too good at backgrounds, so here is a disgusting attempt at one, lol. Anyway, main focus is the girl. Sorry about the subject matter.
Enjoy.

Hey there,
i think it isnt the worst backround i have ever seen btw
first of all its is a well made piece of art !
i like how you managed the light / shadow maybe you can give it a bit more contrast
and i think you should redo some of the proportions . in my opinion the eyes are to big for the head , if you didn t do it on purpose =)
anyway keep it up hope to see more of your stuff !
greez Xo.
The background looks better than the figure, imo. The figure and the face just look a bit off to me. The anatomy of the specific parts is good enough, but they don't seem to fit together quite right. There are some issues, like the toes, and I think the lighting needs work. The lighting isn't quite a match for the environment. Some hint of denim texture on the pants would add realism. Good job on the horse. But I'm not sure I'd call this painting finished.
I updated it for you guys, let me know what you think.
Her head's a bit small, and kinda scary face. The sweat doesn't look like sweat, and with the horse in the background the implication is kind of...
Her entire face is lifted too much, especially the eye brows and eyes. Lower them, because the way you have them now, she looks like she got a really really bad face lift and other plastic surgery.
She has a very thin frame and huge breasts. Sure, there are women looking like that but in this case it gets a bit weird. If you're aiming for a boob-shot, you got it.
And, talking about her breasts, her right looks like a cup and her left like a sagging balloon filled with water. Perhaps you could try to imagine how her nipples relate to each other to give her right breast a more symmetrical look.
Her left hand looks oh so thin, but again, that's perhaps a very conscious stilistic thing.
Try to get her feet to dig into the straw that covers the floor.
I did a little paintover because I am terrible at explaining things.
If you bend your torso in one direction the other side becomes straighter.
I also thought that it looked odd and stiff that her shoulder was slanted in the same direction as her hips. It would look more natural with a classic contrapost like this. Naturally the breasts would follow the lines of the shoulders.
About the head and face. It looks odd because the hair is to small.
I hope this helps and that you understand my ramblings.
Maybe she should have some more Cowboy attributes. Definately a pair of boots. A stable is not a very good place to be barefoot.
I like the background and the colours.
