Mega-update again, awesome!
Nice to see you being so producive, and also to see you improve again!
Don't call your updates pointless, I'm always happy to see something new from you.
No pain, no gain indeed, had this as my IM status just some time ago. True words.
I like the doom marine's design and color scheme, but the white rim light looks a bit out of place, where does it come from?
Why doesn't it affect the arm as much as the waist area? If it is the same source as the reddish light, why is it a different color?
Only a minor critique though.
You're so good with painting legs (and butts!), I'm envious!
Lovely portraits, I like what you did there. I think I'll have to do a self portrait and skull-i-fy/zombify myself, heh...
The new set of weapons blew me away! I already liked your last batch a lot, but with these new ones, you really pushed the limit.
Using different colors for the backgrounds, fitting the weapon colors, is a nice idea, it gives every one more uniqueness.
I love your attention to the detail, all those scratches really make them look like they have experienced a lot, and makes me wonder
what their individual stories might be. One thing you might try is let the scratches (or some of them) wrap around the form a bit more,
unfortunately I don't really know how one would do that, maybe just paint some individual scratches going around the edges just
for this purpose. Sorry, I'm really lacking the English expressions to explain what I mean ...
Thanks for posting your stuff, always a pleasure and inspiration to look at your workMakes me want to improve my pencils.
Great update, I especially like the first zombie on post #1966. I always like to come back here, thanks for posting. Drinking beer is never wrong.

Hey Lieutenant,
Just stopped by to tell you this: keep rockin' your style.
Personally, I don't like sexually-charged subject matter much, but with your stuff, I don't really mind that. In fact, I like how you capitalize on your subjects' (especially your women) flaws and gruesome qualities instead of trying to make them flawless.
As you let your style grow, remember to keep that sense of honesty in your work. I think that's why people like your style so much, including myself.

Seeing great amounts of improvement,
some of your pencil work lines seem way to dark,
do you adjust levels after scanning??
because some of the overly dark lines distort your work a bit
the digital painting stuff like some of the recent studies are amazing
in all seriousness!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the update on the devil girl. I can see she's in good hands. I can also see your confidence growing with forms, especially in the weapons and the still. Makes me think I should be trying hard to learn how to render metal properly as you do it so well.
Not just shiney new metal, but nicked and worn and put through a few people's skulls. The expressions on some of your women are great, full of attitude, although their lines still don't support them in some places. In the breasts, of course, but elsewhere...more study needed.
Excellent breasts in sketches 11. It made me laugh.
Huzzah, more big updates, glad to see you're still hitting the books. Keep at it LP, a lot of good progress going on.

Thank you for the much needed indirect Kick-in-the-ass. The last few weeks I have gotten a lot of compliments from friends, family and colleagues about my drawing, making me sort of lazy. I knew for myself, a lot of my stuff is "ok", but there are tons of other people who are miles above me, so there's still room for improvement, but I was thinking the last couple of weeks, forget the studies, just draw. But your right, why settle for just good. Thanks again and I will stay in contact and if you are ever in Germany, the beer is on me.
wow...i liked your perspective figure study....color composition in that night environment character looks impressive. want to see more...![]()

I like the doomed marine - he looks doomed.
Lightship - I want one of those glasses filled with fruity red wine.
Nice update, I'm sorry be away from CA these days because the hard 3d modelling
assessment in the college, I finish but not in the right way my teacher say to me
good to try but you need more studies to make the modelling process easy for you.
I like the weapons of your design and the light study in artwork the guy with torch.
lovely zombie artwork and strong study in the doodles artwork I guess you spent
a real nice time when you've done all those studies.
keep it up my friend.

Hey Lieutenant,
A good advice that was given to me recently was this: sculpt (or draw in this case) from the inside-out. This means you need to start making underdrawings of a basic skeletal structure and then work your through to draw the outside forms. By doing this, you are going to make your figures and creatures look much more believable. I can see that you've been working on planar forms bit by bit even though you don't like doing structural drawings, but you need to push towards the edge of your comfort zone. Maybe you can leverage yourself by making some blocky sadistic cyborg where their skeleton is showing underneath (and yes, you can make it sexy).

'Ello my brother!
Thanks for the funny pic and elbow to the ribs over my way!
I'm much in the same place regarding what you said about posting here. I started realizing how much time I was spending on CA...and although I learn so much and appreciate all the good feedback and inspiration...I was neglecting getting a lot of other work done.
But hopefully can post some recent work soon!
I agree that your Wacom is really aiding your digital work...like Doom Marine. The gray scale portraits (paint-overs?) of the Zombie/woman look scary cool.
The older ganny below them looks very good...w/ great lighting. I loved the lNecro5 and doom demon...I always thought your color choices...usually leaning towards the soft "cools" are very tasty!
The weapons in #1967 are very cool...love the glow on the last one...really lifts it off the screen!
Digging the designs here.
Ok...so I don't spoil yer ass too much:
Keep working on anatomy...I know I need too all the time.
Even for your sketches...use references...because sometimes we go to the same habits...and our growth slows. Again...it's advice I REALLY need myself!
I like your clean sketch-work...but keep practicing value too like you did in this one.
So now you have felt the Jephyr sting...so get to work or I shall taunt you a second time!!
hahaha
Ciao my friend...keep up the good work and spirit!![]()

No updates are pointless sir! I see the amount of hardwork you are putting into these. It is inspiring and motivating. You sir are improving step by step. Dont stop, dont give up!
The doom marine looks badass. I think it would help a lot if you put smaller details like decals, bevels, scratches etc on the armor. and give him more accecories like utility belt or something like that XD
The sketches are looking good. Hoping to see more figure studies. It will help a lot if you know all the muscles on the body. Hoping to see more of muscle studies too. These things can get annoying at times but it does pay .
Great colors and textures on the weapons. My only complain would be the edges are very sharp and the textures lack a volume, which makes them look more like cutouts. I have to say that double sword is my favorite. Looks like a badass weapon to have. haha
Alright sir. More updates!

Zombie painting is kickass, other study is awesome too. I think for this big step forward you can give yourself box of beer, it's summer and you're working hard. Haha nice mad music and video, reminds me friday is comming...![]()
I simply can't ignore the guiltyness feelings anymore. I looked at your updates several days ago (except the very last one) but I often find no words when looking stuff in SBs. I don't know why.
Now it's even harder because the purple cacodemon shut down my brain. Peaceful, my ass. We know true evil come in cute form (not necessarily cute to my liking).
I dig the smiling women faces in the last one. I can't explain, it's some nice style you distilled by long work.
I feel a lil bit creative with English now, I hope I didn't write something extremely foolish. I drank beer. A half of it! It took some hours. I'm not in my top form though I'm a slow drinker by default.
Btw Ever tried your hands at writing? If you have not, please do so. Your writing is entertaining to say the least. I would read what you write in a heartbeat. XP

Amazing sketchbook, really like those sword designs on the last page! Hopefully you will be back soon to update! Cant wait to see more!
Hey Snake, you are keeping all your fans waiting!
I'm sure it will be worth it though.
