    Mrs Plissken looks a bit creepy, but I think I did expect nothing else I know that you never fail to have some strange things going on here. Good to see that you've taken some time for finishing her.

    Hahas, yw! Glad to be part of the fun. Hmm, didnt mean the angle of he buildings. I kind of like that haphazord feeling of it. Just the hight of the char in front;I cant understand what she would be doing; too low for standing, too high for kneeling.

    So I was thinking, your next project should be a re-enactment of the princes and the frog, hardcore version! I can see it now,... his guills to her cheek. Her breath coming faster as he mounts her classic frog style.. hu you'll have to excuse me I think I watched a bit too artistic anime tonight! Keep up the good work! And ive been wandering, Do you use ref for these faces?
    Xcuse the spellos btw. Phone post.

    there's always something interesting stirring up in your sb plissken i'm enjoying this page of studies. you are showing improvement with faces but still keep in mind the structure of the head. perhaps doing some more studies on planes of the face/head instead of just straight copying of faces (i have to do more of this too)? you can achieve far more depth i think. but, as always-- keep rocking

    Hey Plissken!

    It's been a real inspiration watching your SB all this time. I've been trying to dirty up my forms a lot more. I get stuck on that 8 Head Proportion thing and its been a pain to really force myself to think outside of the box. Seeing your daily sketches and all that jazz has really helped me in that department.

    Hello there,

    Sorry for not visiting your SB for some time. I've told you how the things are.

    about the environment(#1738) Have to say i really like the lighting and the overall contrast between light and dark. Those brush effects are awesome and they really add to the piece. One thing i want to mention here is try adding some sharp highlights and subtle rim lighting on those figures and the statue. That will define the volume of those elements. Good work!

    Well you have been busy over the holiday season! I agree with one of the resposes here that the last 3 head sketches are ace, looks like the doc from Back to the future? Either way your getting more and more better with each post. I assume most of these were done without ref? if so thats awesome. Keep posting mate, i enjoy seeing your creativity

    I'm going to disagree with VK. Those faces have features not aligned and the form of the head is flattened. It might sound weird to you, but I've found doing still lives helps a lot when coming to draw heads - you start to look at everything in 3D and not just the surface.

    Reporting back to base, Lieutenant, sir!

    Hey, sorry I haven't visited for so long. I had a crappy internet connection during winter break, so I couldn't really do anything here on CA.

    First, I wanted to share this to spread the word about deliberate practice: If You’re Busy, You’re Doing Something Wrong: The Surprisingly Relaxed Lives of Elite Achievers . It's an interesting article.

    Second, I really do like some of your progress here. For example, I think the environment silhouettes are strong. However, as much as I like your style and gritty characters, I think studying "weight" and basic muscle structures will help. Your female backside studies did fairly well to address this, but your female backside drawings from imagination. And I don't think Ms. Plissken needs folds around her abdomen because she's wearing a tight suit. It's odd because they read as big folds of her stomach.

    Third, I highly recommend getting some books by Andrew Loomis. Since they're out of print now, there's still some e-book copies circulating around. I think you can find them here on this thread: Hundreds of Free E-books Loomis provides an example planar analysis of a human head. See below (it's from Drawing Heads and Hands):

    Really loving all the improvement I'm seeing throughout your sb, you can see that you are getting much better, which is a good thing. I gotta say keep on doing those studies, but try to do much more life drawing, focus more on developing your anatomy. I also notice that your digital photo studies look much better than the rest of the other work you do. You should try to incorporate some of what you learn while doing those photo studies into your actual work. Push your boundaries of what you think you are capable of doing, get out of your comfort zone. Do drawings/paintings that are unique and different for you so it gives your brain a challenge. The way one can get better is by dedication and lots of practice, you have a good work ethic so just keep on truckin' and honing your skills. Try to test your limits of what you are capable as an artist. Keep up the good work. Never give up on this skillset.
    To live is to create, to create is to live. Without art and music, I do not know how I would get by in my day to day life.

    Hi matey

    I gotta agree with "jephyr X" on that image its one of my favourites too, I keep wondering what she is thinking about, and what the story is. Thats what makes a good image in my book, its one that stays with you in your mind and you follow on with it and try to solve the dilema of what you have seen.
    Coo that was philosophical wasnt it !!?

    Thanks for the kind words in my SB darlin I replied with nonsense just to make you smile!

    Will;
    I think that you would be definitely surprised
    when you would saw what Mrs. Plissken can do.
    We all would be surprised by her multitalented activities.
    As a matter of fact, I could do much more than I am doing now.
    The problem is that I am lazy, and lots of the time I am not motivated
    enough. Either way, I am very glad that you visited and that
    you encouraged me once more. Thanks buddy.

    shiNIN;
    Shy Ninja is in da house. Wiiiiii,
    I am so happy. Thank you for being
    with me.

    Creusa;
    Hey, what’s new in Rome?
    Yes, most of the studies on the previous page are
    from photos or movie screenshots.
    Sometimes I do a straight copy of them
    and sometimes I exaggerate some features
    or stylize them. Thank you for visiting
    my dear friend.

    Julia;
    I know she is creepy but she is good deep
    inside her soul, and she just knows how
    to satisfy ones needs. My intentions are that
    I do not go with the mainstream. Maybe I
    failed at that, but I am still trying. Thank you
    very much for being here and for supporting me.

    ashess;
    Oh, now I understand what you mean. Yes,
    that hooded person looks a bit strange on that
    environment, she or he is a bit low. Looks
    like he/she is crouching. I will have to fix that,
    or if not, then they will surely think that it’s
    a very short person. Re-enactment of the
    Princess and the Frog; you see that is a very
    good idea. My twisted imagination could bring
    that to a very nasty level, hahaha. I definitely
    like your idea and what you wrote. We could make
    out something together, like the Grimm Brothers, and
    we should make a massive sale out of our stories.
    A brilliant idea!
    I use references for my face drawings, mostly
    googled up internet photos or I do some movie
    screencaps. Thank you for dedicating the time
    to visit here and to share your thoughts with me.
    You are a very kind person.

    Mike;
    I will go bust some more head structure studies,
    and will try to understand the planes. Glad that
    you like some of the stuff and that you find it interesting.
    You know me, so what else should I say. I can be
    extreme from time to time, sorry because of that.
    I would just like to thank you for being here with
    me for such a long time Teapo my friend. I hope
    that you are well also.

    Ixallus;
    I just do not know what to say. I am really happy and
    I am feeling excited if I managed to help you in any aspect.
    Thinking outside the box is something that we all should do.
    And I know, they all chanting to do the daily studies and
    the regular stuff, but I think that we should let things go
    sometimes. Let our soul speak, instead our mind.
    I appreciate your presence here my dear friend.

    Kendall;
    Hey there buddy. It’s great that you like
    those head drawings, but I got critiqued
    cause of the flatness. I think I will have to go
    back to train some forms. Thank you for your
    support and for helping me all the time.

    Rafid;
    My friend, you have refreshed my memory
    and brought some old demons back. It seems just
    like yesterday. When I did those paintings seems like
    yesterday, but it passed 2 years. I am an emotional
    person, so I get very nostalgic seeing these pieces.
    Each of them hold a secret and the mark a very
    special time in my life. Thank you. Thank you
    for bringing me in this mind state my friend.
    Sometimes with small things,
    you can move mountains.

    Matej;
    Hvala lijepo, i tebi sve najlepse zelim
    i puno uspeha. Hvala na poseti i na
    konstantnoj podrsci.

    Devastacio;
    Where are you my man.
    You ain’t updating your sketchbook anymore.
    Why?
    I rally appreciate your constant visits and your
    support. Thanks for the enviro advices, I will
    try to apply them. I hope that you will come
    back and start to share your art once again.

    j-ace;
    Hello, yes one of those heads are the “Doc”
    from Back to the Future. Unfortunately
    they are not done without refs, I used movie
    screenshots to draw the faces. Thank you
    for visiting and for encouraging me buddy.

    Black Spot;
    The heads are a bit flat, you are right.
    I think I need more mileage and some
    life drawings just as you suggested.
    Being at life drawings, I did not do
    any of those for a while.
    Thank you for being here Mrs. Spot.

    Jeff;
    I feel a bit better than for New Years eve,
    and I am happy that you are also 100 percent
    well. So it is time for us to learn some more
    and to challenge us with some new stuff.
    I always appreciate your visits and you
    support. Thank you my friend.

    Macska;
    Not yet. ツ
    But soooooooon....
    Thank you for your visit.

    Ramalooke;
    Thank you my friend,
    Always a big pleasure to see you here.

    Orochigenocide;
    You are a life changer. You are changing my
    life with each and every post of yours. I do not know
    how to thank you for that link that you shared with me.
    I need to train more head plains you are right, and
    I am not sure about Mrs. Plisskens abdomen suit,
    it could be some neoprene diving suit material, and
    she is too fit, you know what I mean, so there are some
    wrinkles there. Well, what should I say, you are a real
    angel showing up in the real time.
    I will come to your wedding because of this.

    I like that. That is the mindset that I have.
    Her vagina can accept a lot of hard tools.

    Naomi;
    If I will ever have a kingdom,
    you will be a queen.

    SinEater;
    Her neck stiffened up a bit, cause she worked
    too hard in the last few years of her life. But she
    is a gentle soul deep down inside. I am happy
    if you find interesting going through my pages.
    Thank you for being supportive all the time.

    Jeff;
    Page 16, that was a long time ago,
    haha, I also browsed through those pages,
    and there are some sweet memories from earlier.
    The green lady that you highlighted, was a screenshot
    from one of the ‘Tales from the Crypt’ episodes.
    Thank you for bringing back the old memories
    and for cheering me up every time you post.

    thesadpencil;
    I just do not like doing life drawings. They are boring.
    Modified digital photo studies can be fun. I always try
    to push my boundaries, but then I drink a few beers and
    lay back. But no matter what will happen, I will try to
    evolve my skills more. Thank you for coming here and
    for viewing the stuff. Cheers buddy.

    LightShip;
    Hi matey. The green female on that picture is thinking
    about some horrible things. That painting is done from
    some movie screencap, I am happy that you like it. Thank
    you very much for being here and for elevating my morale.
    Let’s drink some more beers now...

    wasabi;
    Thank you very much bro.
    Hope you will stick around,
    cause more hot stuff is about to come.

    fantasyartist;
    I am happy that you see some improvements.
    Thank you.

    prsnsweeney;
    Hello buddy, no problem for not being here
    earlier, the most important is that you are back now.
    Thank you for the words of encouragement my friend.

    Sean;
    Very glad that you like the environments.
    Thank you for the feedback.

    Marianne;
    Mrs. Plissken is scary from the outside, but
    she got some sweet soul. Thank you for
    coming here and for encouraging me.
    Cheers.

    Hello friends.
    I hope that I find you all in good mood and health.
    Sorry if I did some mistakes above in the reply section,
    or if I accidentally forgot to reply to some of you.
    It was too much to write, and I lack full concentration lately.
    You are all real kind for coming here and for supporting me all the
    time. In this post my dear friends, I will post this Submarine
    Porthole that I did from imagination, where I have tried to
    study material of a huge cold rusty steel. The Submarine
    is out of the water in some dark hangar. I was very excited
    to do it look like underwater, but I did not have the idea
    how to do that, so it stays like in a dry version.
    I used those circle mask stuff tools in Photoshop to create
    accurate edges around the porthole.
    I always had some phobia from large ships and submarines.
    Diving under that big steel beast in a dark water. Scary scary stuff.
    I have some more pencil works that I will scan and post pretty soon.
    Cheers friends, and thanks for looking.
