A finished piece i did yesterday---an experiment with style. Not really looking for accurate proportions and stuff (obviously. look at that giraffe neck. and those arms....mm skelo-arms. yum) . trying to loosen up and break away from studies and stuff.

And another piece that i'm working on just to get back into painting.


Conclusion: i really need to get on those studies and stop fooling around.

Niiiice! Your use of brush strokes is definitely improving. I'd say study some gestures and anatomy. I say that because, even though this last update is awesome as heck, your stuff just needs a better sense of rhythm. The poses just need to look more natural and have a sense of weight to them. Good work though

I have no idea where I"m going with my art.
I always believe in striving hardcore for what you want. believe in anything.
but i keep being told i don't suit the style I am aiming for--that I will never reach the level i want to reach, because I'm not built for it.
Well fk that cuz i'm gonna try anyway, but on the same token.
I am going to try everything.
and one day
something will click. and then I will know.


BUT IN THE MEAN TIME.

but what's this about people telling you "i don't suit the style I am aiming for." that's total bs. I don't care if you're aiming for delacroix or disney, how could anyone tell you whether you're suited to one style or another? don't worry about style... just keep pushing and it'll come naturally...

And sometimes, you really got to break off from everything and clear your life. no fault in that--i just hope you've been alright that whole hiatus you seem to have not lost any of your skills and creativity at all haha life has been crazy but it's finally shifting and it feels good. kind of did the same as you--took a hiatus from life itself for a while. got my priorities and mental health back in order. also brought some closure to relationships that just weren't healthy anymore. haven't felt this good in a while : ) how bout you man?? life's the same, took 6months off from anything art related, started to get caught up in making the cheese while spending all the faster, so now it's back to square one and just keep with rhyme of things, steady and steady, but it's great to hear u are in a more woo-sah feng shui moment in ur life, now channel it to the canvas and make it happen or whatever ya do YA HEARD!!!

the butterfly pic is going to be my mom's bday present. and some moar character design chibis. I'll make legit character portraits of them some day. There are around 18 characters total but I dont' want to reveal all of them yet. : 3

It's really refreshing to see some different takes on character design, and the thing i like about it most is that it's a sketch that involves more focus on design rather than tedious rendering, now u got me wanting to do some, hope u don't mind if i bite ur style for a bit muhahaha!

sorry for the really lame update. I just felt like doing more personal work for the rest of the summer before I start school next week.

the first image is based on some spiritual experiences that have been very important to me. even though i know it just looks like an otaku's wet dream with a kitsune.

and i never thought i'd draw furries in my entire life but my friend requested the second pic (it's us, she's the white wolf), and i quit enjoyed making it.

dood i luv that last one, sure there's quite a bit of that on DA but I really think u should try some cell shading type of work to ur line drawings. I really like the color palettes in this last post, not sure but maybe in ur head ur getting better at simplifying things and working it up! Keep em coming u sexy fox =P

ahhhckkkk have not posted in so long. I mostly just post on my facebook :/

School this semester was hardcore so I didn't have any time to post here, but I did manage to work a little bit on some paintings (but paint none). And typically I'd be all over that during winter break but I actually want a break this time. So I haven't worked much on anything.

Here's some stuff I'm working on now trying to develop a style more unique to me. The alice piece is a christmas present for a friend. I haven't done a full composition in a while x_x.
The book angels I will be doing a series off.
I will also hopefully be getting a series of characters designed before break is over.

Expect some more illustrationy type stuff as I prepare to start my concentration next semester (illustration + interactive design). We'll see how that goes.

Maybe if I get time to downsize some of my design files I will post my design work on here too.

Whats this, posting twice in the same week!?!?
Design squelched every last bit of time, energy, and life out of me so I died for a while.

I'M FINALLY IN ILLUSTRATION AT UNI. My teacher is also someone who I respect and idolize in the art field, so this semester has been great so far in that class. Lots of experimenting going on. I don't have much to post at the moment because I need to re-format all my work for web (so lazy).

Anyway, we're redesigning book covers for "Scary stories to tell in the dark", a popular children's book series.

We were allowed to change the niche market/selling point. Mine is that the series is for badass, fearless kids.

here are two covers. the third was terrible so I'm reworking that as we speak.


LESSON LEARNED: I SUCK AT CHILD ANATOMY AND AS SOON AS I HAVE FREE TIME, I WILL BE DOING MASSIVE CHILD STUDIES.
