Some new bits. Apologies for the silence, but I'm having my brain filled with bad ideas by there guys this week:
http://www.conceptdesignworkshop.com...-overview.html
Very fortunate to get the chance this week to be taught by some phenomenal industry artists at the CDW Sydney workshop.
I did this piece during a three hour workshop with Gerhard mozsi today. Learning a lot!
Still going with the life sketches...
And outbound over Sydney Harbour.
Here's the final iteration of the previous post's piece.
Some more life drawing and a heavy bank rolling into CT harbour.
Here's my first stab at a Zbrush piece. It's all Ben Mauro's fault.
Taken at last year's Wynland Marathon. One of the fast-movers.
And my bleeding self over the weekend. Fun times!
Been quiet on here, because I've been flat out everywhere else!
Here's a Wolverine piece I did for this week's Ozcomics comp.
Here is an interesting exercise I recently did as part of the CDW workshop with John Park. It was a fun design brief for a futuristic character and treasure hunting craft. I'm sorry to say I didn't have all the time in the world to spend on this, bit it was a great cranial exercise nonetheless.
There's a whole train of thought behind this that I won't go into here.
New pieces.
Life drawing. And Federation Square in Melbourne.
I think these are the last life drawings for a while, so let's see what comes next...
And a snap taken during one of our training exercises on Table Bay last year.
Ink exercise...
And another riverine snap taken in Melacca, Malaysia. Great place.
Wow sexy ink, love how You built depth! But I think some more flat black, eg. in shadowy part of building in the front would make it even better.
Quick scribble and entering Table Bay harbour after night training.
Quick blocked sketch and a snap of the Fitzroy neighbourhood in Melbourne.
Quick digital sketches. Done during the CDW Sydney workshop.
And a snap of Attie and Karen on the farm in Witsand.
Diggin' the ink excercise and the mech thumbs!
I'm pretty jelly that you got to go to the Sydney workshop, I was at the Melbourne one just before and it was pretty solid. How was it? did you guys get to do exercises often with the instructors?
Keep it up dude.
The Sydney workshop was great, and pretty intense, nine hours straight every day for six days.
I think there are things that my brain is still trying to piece together, but across the board, from beginners to pros, there was a lot to learn. Tempted to do the Wellington one, but too much work to be done!
Some commissioned illustrations.
Digital sketch and a snap.
Well, I've been off radar a good long while, thanks in part to the CA blackout we experienced a while back. I've been very busy preparing for a show, so there's a plus side. Here's some new work, revisiting an old series I've been building for six years now.
Sketches for recent pieces.
Let's get back to the routine...
love the sketch in post 915...
Also, a couple of really good looking enviornments on this page! Like the way you've been able to create atmosphere and texture with minor phototextures
Almost showtime! If you're in Sydney, save the date!
amazing works! i especially love your life drawings! do you go every week?
