Wow, the style is so lovely! The first one is a little different in that it has an outline around everything...so does the last one, but the first one feels more illustration-y than painter-y They are all outstanding, but my faves are the first one, and the one with the old owl. Should make an excellent book!!

Yes, unfortunately, due to my client's budget, we need to have two styles: One with all the bells and whistles, and one that was easier on his wallet.

Extremely good work, and very beautiful - I like it a lot. Only thing I'm not too keen on is the faux PS watercolour painterly bits at the edge of the background - they are excellently done, and no one buying the books will know, but they are, for me, just a touch 'forced' if you kinda know what I mean. Just a small point that occured to me and something that may be of interest as feedback.
Anyway, good to see such excellent work. Thanks for posting.

    Question

    Thanks guys!

Chris Bennett: I can kind of see what you're saying, but for whatever reason, I like it. Perhaps it's the unstable state I've been in of late, but I've been enjoying exploding onto a canvas seeing what happens. Sometimes it makes for a mess and requires sweeping up the edges, but overall I'm happy with the direction. However, sometimes it takes a bit for me to learn my lesson, perhaps later this year I'll agree with you.

RyerOrld: Mostly digital. I analogue paint and scan washes, cracked paint and ink splatters and then use them for overlays and brush textures.

I would love these as a kid, and still would older. These are great man. I understand the reasons for the two styles. I still think they both look great.
