    Hey - it's me (Connor).

I'm currently just messing around with Sketchup atm and I wanted to see how far I could push an architectural modeller seeing as I havent got the time at the moment to go into a deeper, more technical program. I'm also trying to work out how to use Kerkythea for the rendering but it's a bit confusing!

Thanks for all the positive comments and ratings.

    Hey,

There will be more coming to this thread shortly, and definatly there will be more then mechs,...... i promise you this Krato!

ATM, my friend Connor is using a construction programme called Sketchup and uses his mouse to create the images like the mechs above,

i do alot of drawings myself, mainly just on paper, but i have no scanner and every photo i take of them just looks horrible. I'm getting a Wacom tablet soon tho, so after that there will be a fair bit more to this thread. it'll probly be crap to start with as i learn to use the tablet, but im seriusly hoping i will get the hang of it. I know i have no hope of competing with alot of the artists on here, but i can still try, and hopefully improve.

Rigth now tho, me and Connor both have aload of exams on, so nothing new for right now.

    thanks,
    clockworksnail!!!

Well my favourite things are mainly vehicles of some sorts and I kinda love mechs (blame Gundam) and vehicles are some of the only things I can model that look interesting atm. I could do buildings - which I might try and I'm experimenting with some colouring so you dont have to be stuck with just brown or grey on my models . Other things I might try is scenery, rooms and general architecture. Along with guns, machinery and other industrial thingies.

Curves are beyond me due to my tools and my skill.

Kurt has also pointed out that we have alot of exams on (about half way through now but they lighten up as of this friday) so don't expect regular updates. I'll try and only upload finished products rather than WIPs.

Awesome mech, guys! I really like the leg-design, and I can't wait to see it textured if you gonna do that. Oh and thanks for commenting on my sketchbook, I really appriciate that.

    Hey, so...
I realise i haven't done anything on this for aaaaaaaaaaaages, but the tablet took alot longer to get then i thought it would.

I havent really seen connor for awhile, im not sure whats going on there, so for the time being, its just me for this sketchbook.

This is basically the first thing ive attempted on my tablet, or on a computer atall. its pretty bad but im hoping i can improve with time and experience. i realise the beak is wrong and looks strange,....... but its a learning step.

feed back would really be appreciated.

    thanks

And here I am already!!! I see you work with google sketchup. Looks nice!!! I recently downloaded this software, but as I'm a passioned 3D-modeler and have Blender and ZBrush, I was asking myself what use I could make of it at all. Now I see!!!

And you're into fantasy stuff too, I like that dragon, will it get colorized finally?

Before getting in to digits, you both (?) should work more your traditional drawing, and after you get the basics, try to get slowly to digital. If you're traditional drawing and painting is good, you'll be more comfortable with digital art.
    Keep up working

Mark Tarrisse : thanks, but its just me now,(kurt)

connor never really liked traditional drawing anyway, he prefered to make the 3D things and never intedned to get into painting.
i do tho, so yer, thanks for the advice. i do actually do a fair bit of drawing on my own, but i have no scanner yet and so do not post most of it.

this mech in beginning kicked my ass! but i think you should try to get the structure down first, and then the details. i think sometimes you do it the other way round!?

Good going with the apple study, but I think you should try and push it a bit more with the darker colours.

Also, I don't speak for everyone but imo no scribbles are pointless. Keep it up! I want to see more!

Btw, are you studying any drawing books, example Loomis?
