these blew my mind
Some solid work here.
The Hulk Spidey piece is by far the most dynamic, energetic of the bunch IMO.

midknight523: thanks!
SEVANS: Thanks, BTW do you think I captured the feeling of the other characters?
Ghost Rider is awesome, great job
love the weight and motion on the hulk/spidey pic, awesome work!
Yeah, Ghost Rider and Thor look pretty spot on, character wise. It has their 'essence'.
Don't really know FF or Dr Strange.

immelmann_turn: thanks! I'm satisfied with that piece as well, I wonder why any time I finish a piece it looks so different from the previous, seems like my hand works on its own...
SEVANS: thanks, that's what I was aiming for.
I must tell you, with such good and diverse work it was hard for me to choose my favorite for the poll. But hands down, I had to go for Ghost Rider. He usually has some good work when it comes to him, and you pulled off that legacy greatly!

this is a really strong group here, good luck with the review!

DMK : Thanks, it's good to see you appreciate my art, but it's hard for me to believe this is the best I can do. I strongly need to improve, so I ask you if something is lacking in these pieces, if you see something that could be improved.
DavePalumbo : Hey Dave, I'm so glad you liked these, I'm a fan of your art! do you think Is there something I could do to bring my art to the next step? Any advice from you would be most than welcome. BTW, I rememeber you put together as well a Marvel portfolio for San Diego ComiCon, what happened?
Well...I consider Dr Strange a wonderful picture, full of classical art and mysticism. The use of light is stunning and the impact on the viewer is impressive. Really great job!
New update at the top!
that ghostrider piece is my fav from the rest..i get this oldschool 80's acrylics vibe from it, which is sweet![]()
I think this is a really really strong group of ideas/designs.
At least Icarus tried!

Wow Max! E che ciai il tocco magico?
Fantastic work!
aaro_n: Thanks, though the ghost rider piece wasn't meant to be a "80"'s piece I know yours is a compliment
kev ferrara : Thanks!
GriNGo's: Thanks, let's cross fingers!
Tu lavori come illustratore?
(Sorry everyone a bit of conversation in Italian here.)
Sure, I've been a pro illustrator in the last 10 years. I mainly draw the comic book Nathan Never here in Italy, and paint the covers of the reprints of the same comic book (" La grande Ristampa di Nathan Never") , plus many other works as freelance.

Bare in mind, I'm not an artist.
These are great. The Fantastic4 cover looks very similar to the ones they use on the Omnibus, the Ghost Rider is fantastic, the spider man is very good but the green goblin (?) doens't look to be the same quality.
Daredevil's scene looks great, but I feel like he's getting out of focus. He needs to be a little more crisp like the guy below![]()
Great stuff man, love the Ghost Rider Pic.
The Spiderman vs. Hulk piece reminds me of those magazine sized issues Marvel put out in the 70's and 80's.
The Daredevil piece with a bit more contrast on Daredevil himself, and you could slip that image past my radar as an already published cover on the title. It's kind of a step between Maleev and the Tommy Lee Edwards covers from around the mid 80's (of the current volume). Which is good company to keep, that book has a pretty consistent standard for book dressing.
Also the sci-fi, fiction covers are another high point for me. Strong work.
Great stuff Max - favourites have to be the dare devil and dead-rider images, the look of dare devil in particular is gorgeous.
On a side note, I seem to remember contacting you whilst I was still a college a few years ago regarding artwork for a black library cover you'd done; I just wanted to say thanks again and let everyone else know what a jolly nice chap you were about helping out a snot-nosed student
Cheers,
Phil
wow!
bellissimi lavori, complimenti!
i'll think i'll agree with the rest and def go for the hulk/spiderman scene, really strong pic, immediately followed by the ghost rider one.Very cool work on the F4 remake one too!...dig that last orc as well
i'm not too much of a fan of the realistic 80's JoeJusko-ish style, but that is just personal taste, they are strong illustrations nonetheless
much respect!
ciao
Can i Vote for Jack Kirby?
Alexander P. : I did'nt want to make the Daredevil piece too sharp, I preferred keeping it a bit more brushy. by the way, about what you say on the FF piece, what is the "omnibus"?
Jeremy Ruiz: Thanks!
Warren Belfield: Maleev and Edwards are great, thanks for the comparison! About Daredevil, didn't want it to look too crispy, I like it a bit undefined... is that bad?
Phil Moss: Hello Phil...I was lucky enough to talk to some of the artists I most loved in the past years, and nearly all of them helped me with useful advices. Now, any time I can be of any help to young artists I try to do my best.
TheGnoll thanks! I'm trying to bring my art to a more modern look... i'm workin mostly on colors and lights, searching a more impressionist style. I'll post this new art here as soon as it will be published.
lord_senneian I would vote for Jack as well if I could vote!
Hey there, update at the top!
I find your work very solid for the Italian market, you are getting good critics and so on. For the american market I would think that there is a huge competition!!! I have seen many good artist that did not make it, even though they had presented mind blowing portfolios!!!
This is a link to a similar thread, in which there are some good comments http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=169109&page=2
Alberto Gennari, that used to work for ZonX had some of his drawings published by Wildstorm, if you can get hold of them you could get an idea of what would work and what not, but I do not know what he is up to these days.
Hope to see more!
Ciao
