The vehicle works are amazing, I love the perspective you get on them.
So you just draw them free hand and then fill in the colour on PS then.
Saw another thread with your stuff and you said you did it with 3DMax and PS, so I assume you create the space with the three dimensional program and then fill in the texture and text with Photoshop.
Just wondering as it confuses the hell out of me how people go about creating these landscapes / scenes.
Actually, I very rarely model an entire scene or object in 3D. My typical process is to start with a rough layout, done either in pencil or in photo shop. I will set that as a background image in my perspective viewport in 3Ds max. I then set props and cameras so that my 3D viewpoint matches the perspective in the sketch. I will create 3D models of the parts of the scene that are too complicated or time consuming to render by hand. Fro example, mapping a texture on a curved surface can be a real pain in Photoshop. Also, if I am drawing a restaurant, rendering each chair can be very tedious. I will render these parts, without much sophisticated lighting, as Targa files. The targa format creates an alpha channel, isolating the geometry. I can then assemble all the rendered pieces like a puzzle, and render all the remaining parts in Photoshop. For the vehicles you are referring to, those were just drawn by hand, and shaded in Photoshop. Since they are just studies, creating a 3D model of those vehicles would be much more time consuming than necessary. Sometimes I will make 3D models of the wheels if I want a really complicated tire tread pattern.

hi
Four-faced demon.
I like some of the design elements in this aborted concept study, but I never felt happy about the execution of the illustration. Rather than starting over from the beginning, I'll just chalk this one up to a lesson in learning from one's mistakes
