help me improve it (:
My eye immediately goes to the sword. It is too big and bulky and "white". And I can't be sure if you are going for an animated piece or an illustrated piece. Also, there is no clear indication of where your light source is as there are few highlights to define it.![]()

Looks good, knees are a bit low but that could just be distortion/character.
You just need to work the rendering and figure out how far you want to take it, You can clean it up and make it neat or decide if you want to keep the outlines or weather that's the style of the drawing. If you want to max out rendering and realism you need to work this puppy.
Does he have sparklers in his ears? That is a little ambigous, If it's earings maybe make them or one of them bigger and avoid that sparkle's. If you hit a brush at just the right way it can make a light yellowish triangle that could come off as an earing, that's also kinda like a dynamic painting idea.
I'd download el coro's painting vid if I had the money. I think it's right down the alley you are heading. and the character reminds me of that woman on his advert.
