I feel for you, I am always stunned by all those amazing artists around here, but they motivate you to become better, right?
Cool character design, did you use references for them? Especially the first one is nice, keep on working!

thanks for the comment on my sb yo

you've got a pretty good start here, so keep going at it. i think it'd be helpful to work on line quality as you're drawing from ref - pay attention to the flow of your mark making, and adjust the width of the marks as the reference needs. it's tough, but it'll be a long term benefit. as for rendering, smudging isn't the best way to attain realism; you'll want to do some careful, form-following crosshatching.

    looking forward to updates :]

although, sehrc,I've seen that sometimes,if done right, smudging CAN get pretty powerful results...
I personally prefer crosshatching to smudging, but,it's laborsome, sometimes really boring, and not to mention slow...
But take this advice,Carsten, try utilising an eraser when smudging, that's how you get the highlights, and always keep in mind that there is form and the flow thereof. So try to explain the form using the light. But render it the way you feel it best suiting for you, after all,you are the one drawing

Any advice I can give would be ..draw more this year than ever before
You're off to a good start already, judging by the posting frequency starting on feb the 16th. So keep doing that
