    Janos - The twofaced Portfolio

    Hi there!

So guys, I am about to finish my poertfolio work and I have decided to post all of the stuff that could eventually find its way into my portfolio, with which I want to apply to an art academy here in germany, in one thread.
I am planning on applying to the Art academy in Karlsruhe and in Stuttgart, Germany, or the Rhein Sieg Academy and I want to follow the path of "Freie Graphic" (free graphic, which would be something like illustration, layouting, a lot of drawing etc.) and Illustration.
I would really appreciate if some of you could tell me which images work in a portfolio cpontext or give me tips how to present them and in which order to put them. I was planning on giving as large a spectrum of my work as possible, probably ca 15 images per portfolio.
Your portfolios need to have the originals, or high quality foto copies if the picture is unsendable. I've got quite a few things to chose from, though I realise now, that I need some landscape/enviros, and some more organic stuff. Too much portraits atm.

Anyways, there are different "main" categories:

    1. Nude/Real life studies

    2. Portrait/Foto ref work

    3. Illustration Work

    4. Art Nouveau

Some pointer questions you could answer in order to help me put my portfolio together:
    - Which are the best works?
    - Which are the worst (do not belong in a portfolio)?
    - Best images at the start or end?
    - Cover for the portfolio? Layout?
    - Is a certain genre missing? What do I need to add?

    Unique style to your pieces!

I especially enjoy the noveau pieces at the end.

I would suggest to get stronger in your initial life drawing renders though.

I also would like to ask, is that watercolor? Because it looks goregous on your linework!
