Greetings!

I'm 20 years old and I'm studying Informatics (yeey) ...but i decided i will try it to some art school so i will work on it during summer... ye and I'm from Czech Republic...
I also play the guitar, so my "art" is probably influenced by that

I'm not exactly a new member - i was only observer last year or two - and now i decided to contribute by starting my own sketchbook...

I know my work isn't anything special, but I really want to improve and I hope I can, but i need your help.
So here is the deal - As long as u will comment my uploads, i will keep posting and working on a new stuff. I think it's fair... Isn't it?

Also tell us what you like in art, where you are hoping to go with it or do with it so that C&C can be given with that in mind.

Also i think the comments are kinda of implied and expected so your deal does not make much sense. ;P Plus, as has been pointed out to me as well, we should be doing this for us and because we want to.

well i admit that this was pretty naive thinking... but hey im a noob here just tryed to come up with something...
also its totally true - we are doing it for us, BUT sometimes you just need discipline and more motivation - thats why u started your challenge... isnt it true?

I have huge motivation now, because im studying Informatics and im starting to hate it there... this Math is killing me i have settled some consultation and im hoping CC will also help...
The biggest hope is to get to Creative Animation (its called something like that... donno how to translate it better.) ) I dont know if i can do it... but i will damn try it ! pheew THX for dropping by !!!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.

My main advice would be to define the Anatomy a little more clearly because as it is, it is difficult to see where one muscle mass stops and another begins. If you are unfamiliar with the Anatomy, the only way to get acquainted with it is to study it. Just don't start at the hand like I did, that is probably the toughest area in the whole body haha.

Your art actually reminds me a lot of my own before I started studying Anatomy. Out of curiosity, have you ever heard of Sheldon Borenstein? He has some free videos on youtube that really helped me out when I was in the beginning stages and maybe they can benefit you as well.

I finally bought a Spiralblock, so NOW im ready to get better

these i drew last night while i was learning paradigms of programming i have an exam in a few hours... (or i dunno if there is better word for collage exam)

Hell yeah, Euroboy! I love Turbonegro too!
Your stylized work is really neat, seems to be your comfort zone, be sure to keep on working on it. As far as your other stuff goes, not half bad, you should really work on some studies from books instead of trying to figure it out with your imagination.

Check out the books by Andrew Loomis and George Bridgman and work on some studies from them, they will be eternally valuable.

You've got determination, keep on drawing!

I somehow like the idea, and the hands are drawn quite well (despite the fact that the thumb of the hand beeing held could be a little thicker in the tip, but thats a minor problem i guess.. )

I also like your "comic figures" and the fact that you do both: comic and realistic drawings

Eiki: hi! thx for looking to my sketchbook... these graphic things are simply made in photoshop with pen tool sometimes i use a textures as a background... nothing hard but its fun...

and I love the "face it" illustrations!
on anatomy studies I'd recommend using actual anatomybooks for learning. they're easier to understand than working from photos. you've probably seen some of loomis works already, his books are really good to work with for example.

I would just have to say to keep your lines cleaner when drawing (or try to) and to keep on practising anatomy, i would recommend you to Hogarth, Loomis and an actual life drawing classes. Life drawing classes are really nice to go to, helps you quite a bit.

monotony: thank you very muchos and i just found like a four book from Loomis right on the internet! so from now im starting probably "Figure Drawing for all it's Worth by Andrew Loomis" ... but i cant read all the text from it now, because i must also learn for the exams -.- ...

Pigeonkill: oh ye i can tell you that its probably a future of these characters, because we just started new band with friend and its something like a comix-rock'n'roll... so every presentation of the band will be converted into comix world and of course - clips to our music... it would be also lot of work but some animation work would be appreciated on the talents exams... thx for stopping by!

Hey quackart and thanks for the visit

It's obvious that your more graphic looking art is your forte. I'm not belittling your pencils, but I'll get to that. You have some really fun and pleasing character designs in your little creatures, great variety too. Good sense of line weight and form. Maybe graphic design could be your niche?
As for the the graphite, there's more room for improvement there. It's mainly your line quality you should try to strengthen. It's very scribbly and hardly any contrast regarding value, either. I suggest as most CA would (or have perhaps? I didn't read all comments), that is doing quick figure studies. Like 30-90 sec ones. PoseManiacs is excellent for that purpose, even though they're CGI mannequins.

Posemaniacs ROCKS! i didnt know that there is something like that on the internet... ye its naive... on the internet is everything i just tryed some quick sketches... for start it was like 3-5 minutes... 30sec is insane for me... i have to think about proportions a bit thx one more time... these advices are bloody brilliant

i said i will start work on that book from Loomis... and i WILL but not now... lot of work to school... can do only quick sketches... at least something

so here like a 5 minutes sketches... the first i had to level up in photoshop... it was really weak line there...

I'm going to sound repetitive, but really like your graphic work. It's really strong. Although your pencil work isn't as strong I like that you are pushing yourself and not neglecting it. I think if you keep on with the advice you have been given it will continue to improve.
