Hey thanks for the replies guys! I am about to jump into bed and I feel too zombie to answer them without falling asleep in the middle of some sentence.
I am not updating as often as I should, must start updating daily again.

I have been drawing heads, hopefully I will make it with 200 untill sunday, will scan asap. The zoological museum right beside my university have opened, so I will be going there and draw animals and skeletons each chanse I get. And I also continued on the lizardwoman, pushing the rendering as far as I can. Not that much done on the unconvinsing armour yet, most on the skin. redid hand that sucked and replaced head with sword. Critiques and comments are as always welcomed.

Hey man keep up the good work! Looks like you spent a lot of time working with the anatomy of the lizard man (especially looking at page 6). That level of attention is great!

Nice studies on the last page, those spiral ones are really interesting! Keep doing the statue studies, it's where you can test stuff out like pencil rendering.

Kostas - Thanks a lot for your support! Heh, drawing from life is way different then drawing from a photo.
And it's pretty intresting that you have several different Thank You for specific times of the day.

    Thankies Janos!

Hey thanksGrandma! More posts will come.

Eddieee - Heya! Glad you visited my sketchbook and thanks for the encouragement! I think I must do lotsa studies like this infor some drawing I intend spending lot of time on. I got the idea when I saw all the studies Leonardo Da Vinci did before his drawings (my hero and idol lol).

Thanks Koto! Ye I hoped I would get better curves by doing it, just like I did those Yoitsi studies with lines. Must do LOADS more statue studies!

Hello Sir Cam, thanks a lot for stopping by my sketchy-crap-book. I used to not have the patiens for studies untill I realised how much I sucked and my lack of undertanding of anything at all abhorred me so much I decided that I wanted to get a lot better. And after finding inspirational individuals such as MindCandyMan and my friend insanetk here on CA, I finaly realised that it was possible to reach my goals.

Ok, thought I would post some from my life drawing class yesterday. Different time on poses and different mediums used, from 1 to 10 minute poses (too bad not longer) and from pen to ink to charcoal. I will do lotsa more using charcoal from now on, it was the most fun to use and I got imo best result!

Ok here's some stuff from this week, all in order from the earliest (some days ago) to the latest (2 hours ago) with varying time in between. Some were done on the bus, might be the reason to the uneven lines. Last two are studies after a photo of a statue and if you don't recognize the last one then either shame on you for not recognizing it or shame on me for doing it too bad. I tried my absolute best on rendering these two.

Failed my daily update, but I will be better on it.

Ok here's some stuff from today and yesterday, spent a lot of time trying to understand how Mentler studied masterstudies and built up a face. I shamefully copied it so I could understand and then tried it out on a Da Vinci painting (in the 3rd pic to the left). And then I tried to using it to create faces on my own, which didn't turn out that well. I got critique from my friend that I draw the same shape all the time on mouths and noses. I realise now that I must do nose, mouth, eyes and ears studies before I go on to more faces.

Janos - Thanks a lot dude for your current and future support for coming back!

Fumble - Hey thanks for visiting my little sketchbook. Ye I hope I learn a lot from them aswell, although I currently feel I cannot incorporate that knowledge into my drawings yet. I don't know if it should be instant or how long it will take, I guess it differs from person to person.

I have realised I do way too generic shit poses that make no challenge whatsoever. I MUST start doing more complex 3D-ish poses, every god damn pose in my sketchbook is the same pose! I will start incorprating that into my anatomy studies. And I am not even close to doing as many studies as I should be doing per day, didn't do any at all today, only worked on the lizardwoman. Damn I have slacked off.

Been working on the Lizardwoman character a bit more, refined the rendering on the skin and started rendering the "armour" (typical unconvincing fantasy armour lol).

Some inspiring music from the greatest pianoplayer ever, Franz Liszt.

Statue study from life, took around 1 hour less or more I think. Been lazy today with the studies, as usual.

Another quick thingie before bed. A quick clour study from mind. A bit related to that I am now studying a plant-course, The Evolution and Diversity of Plants. I want to start drawing plants aswell, so I thought since they're so colourfull then they're perfect for colour-studies.

Hey I saw what you wrote about art in the lounge. If you just switch biology for geology, it's the exact same situation with me. Hoping you make it!

GoGoJojo - Yeah, it's a pretty complex situation for us both. Thanks for cheering me on, and I want you to know that I also hope you will make it aswell.

Hehe, I got to hear from my student counselour that there were many biologists and geologists particulary who wanted to do stuff related to art instead of what they were studying.

Quick more complex pose of a skeleton made from memory. Had to look at Mentler to get the pelvis right, and it still ain't right. mst do more pelvis studies and lol just noticed that I made the spine too long.

Latest horrible-anatomy-horrible-pose crap I got out, for the current CHOW. Got to hear from Krato that the biceps was completely off and that the limbs and the pose is too stiff. Thanks Krato.

Gotta do arm-studies, I suck at arms, badly.

I don't think you should find a new way, it just takes time to incooperate the soloutions from the study into the final pieces - if you learn how to draw a foot in a certain position and light, with a certain character; but haven't done enough to really master feet (and I haven't, I hate feet) - you will only really be able to use that small piece of information (yet really knowledge) and that will hardly ever come up in one of your own pieces. Instead you always have to learn and learn, thus the value of the studies you are doing - they are great btw - once you gain a good understanding of cloth as a whole making cloth from the mind is no issue, but you need to get their by drawing & painting like crazy.

& you are, så se högt och jobba vidare.

Hey guys, I have to apologise for not replying to your sketchbooks for a while. I have had so much to do lately in the uni and privately. I will do better.

Nettle_Mountain - Thanks for checking my sketchbook out! Glad you like the rednering of the lizardess (lol funny word I must use that one from now on ), it's not yet done, still have some small tweaking left to do.

dan liimatta - Big thanks for your encouraging wise words. Yeah it is tricky with stuff like the feet as you talked about. My friend insanetk told me that I should instead of copying a Burne Hogarth drawing, as I have done untill now, I should draw it from another angle or multiple angles and thereby I will understand the form much better then I will from just copying the drawing.

And yes I must do cloth studies as you told me, haven't done any at all, but I will change that! Tack så mycket!

GHill - Thanks for visiting my sketchbook and thanks a lot for your comment! Although I feel my work ethic is horrible, I am not doing ner as many studies as I should be doing and I am mostly being lazy and browse dumb sites instead of doing something productive. I need a kick in the ass.

krel - Haha! What I am not obsessed with any bird/beak guy. Haven't drawed anything with a beak for ages, might do that now though. Thanks a bunch!

Some crap from last week, first some Hogarth "studies" where I mindlessly copied his drawings and learned shit. No more copying poses like that. Did some heads from my mind aswell, nothing important, accidentaly drawed Obama lol. Last ones from #6 and down are some statue studies I did from life yesterday and the day before that.

    MUST. WORK. HARDER.

kingkostas - Thanks a lot for your continued support! I will sure as hell keep it up!

darknight - Hey thanks, glad you like em.

Here's some stuff from wednesdays life-drawing class. #11 though is from memory. From 12 - 17 I used a long bamboo pencil and stood as far as I could from the easel, it was great fun and I am planning to do it more often.

Nice rendering. It is looking too squeeky clean to me though. Experiment with textures, brushes, different colours (especially on the skin) and just try to get loose.
I would suggest you just finish her off and take her file and just go comletely binkers and experiment with everything you can find on her. Post that one and I will comment again!
