Xelar - Thank you for the critique! I admit the faces look strange still, I think I need to do more studies after photos/life for them. And you are right about colors, I have to work and experiment more on it since yes I always feel they got a sort of cartoony look to them. Since I have James Gurney's book Color & Light I am going to go through it extra much.

witcrack - Hehe thank you for the kind words, witcrack.

Syle - Thanks mate! And yes you couldn't be more right, every minute of what one do now counts in the future.

Here's sparts of the stuff I made the last 2-3 months, I think. Mix of studies from life, photos and imagination. Oldest at top, newest at bottom. Gah I need to pick up the pace, this isn't nearly enough studies.

Damn the last update is awesome! and such a large body of work.
    Nice improvement too.
However if you push yourself even harder you can easily do this in one month.

This is coming from a dork that has a free schedule 24/7
every one is different of course.

I will comment back to everyone's sketchbooks, for everyone who have commented the last months I am really grateful - so I am sorry I haven't for some time.

Lumens - Thank you! Yes I MUST push myself harder! And I am also someone having free schedule almost 24/7 - so it is a bit embarrasing I don't haha!

Dark_Eyes - Wow! Thanks a lot, that makes me incredibly happy! And merry Christmas to you too!

Here's a quick life study before going to bed, 1 hour. It was extremely hard, but just what I need to push my lazy ass!

Awesome stuff man, i'm really liking your rendering style, some more refinement on the brush strokes might could've made it better. And some of the proportions in your sketches looks a bit wonky.

Lots of cool stuff, man. Keep it up yo.

Hey thanks a lot, AllyAlbon! I really appriciate the subscription! So cool!

Here's something for the daily sketchgroup: DSG 1644: Sci-Fi/Creature/Enviro • DESIGN YOUR OWN BEAUTIFULLY LIT PROMETHEAN HORROR. The landscape and its colors are inspired by photos from the surface of Venus, yeah that's right - the fuckin surface of Venus! Is that cool or what.

Posted this piece in the finally finished thread a week or more ago, and surprised over the amount of replies I got over it!

I felt I learned loads painting it. Inspiration for it came after I had broswed Frank Frazettas amazing art for a couple of hours, and after working on it for some days it was finished, quite fast compared to my previous work. I focused on getting the values down after I had gotten great critique from arenhaus here on CA, and I feel it works.

I also recieved some very justified critique by Dahami here on CA that the scales looked like tattoos and looked lazy, which is true since I only used a multiply-layer for the shadows of the scales. Lesson learned, I won't get away with lazy stuff like that so I shouldn't do it heh.

Udonhead - Thanks! I am trying to make it as cheerfull as I can nowadays.

p sage - Hehe thank ya sage! I intend to master it very well one day...

I havent had time to draw that much lately, I have for almost half a year worked on my biology graduation project (Insect biodiversity found in roots used for harvesting for bio-fuel). I don't do any anatomy, perspective, fundamental studies anymore (temporarily only!) since I dont have time, and only draw to enjoy myself and relax.

So here are some new small thingies! One DSG and one accidental sci-fi, started as fantasy piece but friends told me it looked sci-fi and Star Wars-esque, so I added an R2D2 inspired scribe-bit beside the accidental C3P0.

Oh Lordy drawing each of those scales one by one muct have been a pain... Imagine if you'd went back and added a rim light to most of those.. So much agony so much suffering lol jk it looks great though you can tell you took your time..

HarbingerofIllRepute - Hey thanks a lot! Although I don't think you got the right person, I haven't posted any videos yet.

    Pete Hidalgo - Thank you!

kingkostas - Thank you my friend!

    pseudo-me - Aw thanks dude!

Anthonycarey - Thanks! Hehe, I actually enjoyed working on the scales, there's details like that that is one of the things I love the most when I draw. I would gladly redo them.

will123will - Thanks! Happy you approve!

Haven't posted much lately, hardly ever draw nowadays hehe - school takes the time from me. Managed to make this lil thing though after seeing The Hobbit (go see it if you haven't yet!), still a WIP.

Nice lighting and extra care on the scales on the naga art piece. I still wouldn't mind seeing extra embossing on the gold plated jewelry around her neck.
