    Chase the Cat.

    http://chasenoface.blogspot.com/

She was in a car accident as a kitten and is facially disfigured. The vet that treated her adopted her, and she is doing well now. Three years old now and acting like a normal cat. So i have read on the website. Anyway not been cruel or trying to be mean, but it is good ref for zombie animal.

Linked. If you are squeamish don't look. You have been warned.

    Zombie Horse

Holy COW that poor cat, amazing that it's still alive and doing fine.

Aside from that, you're right, good reference.

Welp.... I ran out of time, so I had to crop off the part that I hadn't really worked on yet. The horse has a body, just not in this thread I guess. ....and oh yeah, his neck is supposed to be all weird, it's going to be broken someday when I work on this again.

    great stuff so far!

    I started with this one

but they look more possessed than undead. So I went on to do this one:

and even then it just looks less 'undead' more 'rabies'. there's something wrong with this pic... it has something to do with perspective, but I'm too tired of looking at it to figure it out right now

my fav so far is Hamsta's. pure awesome.

haha, I just remembered that pigs don't have hooves like that. they've got that whole 'cloven hoof' thing going on, oops.

    Fun stuff!!

Ambient Sounds—I think you nailed the pose of your zombie horse. Something about it is
just perfectly expressive of everything 'zombie'.

Prophet—I really dig the way you set your 2nd picture up. In terms of the viewer's angle,
it really feels like a sketch from a storyboard for a zombie movie, or a graphic novel or something.
It's tense, intimidating and very emotional.

Miss Wiggle—I think your submission is great as a DSG and great as a studies. You're really
getting to a certain mood that feels right in your sketches.

Freddy Scribbles—Your sketch is very graphically appealing to me. I like your style
and the quality of the line.

I chose the farm animal most vicious by nature...

I was going to add some shrubbery and ground texture but the geese took me a bit. I would appreciate feedback if anyone is willing to provide. Is the composition interesting? Can you tell what's going on? I should have made the geese look more "undead". But once again, ran outta time.

Did anyone here ever watch the old 'Real Ghostbusters' cartoon back in the day? (not the ghostbusters with the talking car and the gorilla)

There was this one kick ass episode, where there was a farm that would get tended to by undead, and I vividly remember the zombie rooster coming up at night to wake up the undead farmers...

Anyone remember that? That was one heck of an episode.

[prohpet] The second one has a lot more potential to be interesting, as it's going beyond just showing us what these things look like.
The view point should be tilted at least a little bit, to give a more natural bird's eye view, and not make it look like a video game screenshot.

Even if you are going for a cartoony stylized look, use ref.
Also work on line quality, it's a little heavy and rough.

Smashed Pumpkin 2 different monitors can have such different settings, it can be hard to accommodate for all of them.
Hell, I use a laptop to paint, and the colors will change according to the angle I have my screen at.

skyline I don't think you nailed the attributes that make a border collie different from another breed. Right now this dog looks like a general dog, maybe some sort of mutt.

I don't like the random hatching, you should give greater thought to where you place, and what direction the strokes should follow to enhance the plains.

Also, I sort of like the texture in the background, a sort of natural smudged look, but I think it would be better to see more there.

I took different approach, I liked topic a lot, "animal from undead farm", muhaha.

You know, undeads live in filth, in agony. Their life is chaotic, sometime they wake up and can't remember what happened yesterday and what are they doing there somewhere. It's crazy "life". Sometimes they wake up with headache and without thumbs... You know, they need their thumbs for stuff, so they have special animal species on their farms for "replacement parts". Bony tentacle monster FTW!

Okay, I know, I paint like 5y old child. -.-
