Some nice sketches, and ideas, interesting start to the thread. (Especially liking that spaceship) Any recent examples of some slightly more polished works?

Kagemusha:> Thanks man. I haven't done polished work for a while, but I am working on that.

Here's a small update. A quick color sketch to experiment with where I'm at considering color. I think I'll stick with getting better at values and structure before I try again. Although, doing this was fun.

    It's a start I suppose.

heya CCC>>> color is a bit crazy saturated in that recent paint... seems like it would read better if distant objects / space were less saturated. as has been stated here before by others, the vehicle renders up top are really spectacular... something about the looseness and line economy in those is magical. and the fact that one has a "<— hippies " sign. finally the hippies are riding in style.

cheers on the new beginning both in life and in the sb! make it yours and blow us away! c'mon you can do it!

By the way, don't ever convince yourself art is "like riding a bicycle". Keep living life and creating. Never stop or you will have to start from the bottom again... Pain in the ass.

    Thumbs up

Colostua D>>> Hey! Again, i think your stuff is best when you are drawing really loose and letting the imagination run wild, filling the pages with crazy environments and vehicles and faces! Let's see some more o' dat! no stressing...just crank it out! haha... the derisive self portrait...i love when artists do that, although it can be a little harsh looking at it from the outside. hehe. anyways, great work!

Good job on the stream of updates, friend! Keep rolling that rock down the hill!

It's good stuff, shows a lot of potential. Keep working on form and rough, though also try some small, detailed sketches. It'll help a lot.

Hey man, great amounts of imagination in this book. Concentrate a bit more of referenced sketches and studies from observation, so you can get the structure behind the concepts nailed down. Keep grindin' bud!

    Looking real promising here.
On some of the stuff like the flying saucer, maybe shading would give them more form.
Keep at it and never forget to study.

    Hey there !
I like the sketches in your ringbook. Especially the heads, which is why I'd love to see some anatomy studies of you. Would be nice to see how you're dealing with a realistic human body.
Also: I dig these spaceships you got in your ringbook.

I have to supplement todays post with some old stuff. Having troubles with scanner. But, I'm doing studies again from movies and other video, which is what these older drawings are. Movie was Drunken Master.

Sorry about the delay, here comes the stuff.

    Hey man !
Some nice motions in these sketches. I Like the one on the bottom left. Man, Drunken Master was some cool movie.
Btw, interesting idea with the video studies. Maybe I'm gonna try that some time, too.

I'm getting back to fundamentals, there is a lot I need to work on. This was completed under 30 minutes. A lot of flaws, and things I need to observe again. I'm going to start a longer study. I had to get something out though.

I think you should push the values more. Punish the paper with you pencil ().
I looks to me like you have spend most time on the egg, i like the core shadows on it.
I'd love to see it as a 3-4 hours drawing - keep it up

    Hey there !
Life drawing is always a good thing. Can't wait to see more of that stuff.
I guess Fumble is right. Maybe you should spend a bit more time with your next one ?
The egg does stand out, actually. I think you did a good job capturing the light/ shadow there.
    Wanna see more
