    Rawr.
Hello I'm eromenos and I'm 18 (second semester senior YAY)

Just got into CalArts and Ringling, and am waiting for financial aid. (i'm catb on the art schools & education category)
uh I got rejected from UCLA and Art Center so I'm in the I-MUST-IMPROVE-mode.

Gonna start off with a self portrait like Hapun's

    Some stuff from my sketchbook.
The first page was from national geographic, the second is me being goofy with my mouth and teeth + some caricatures.
The second set, I was working with 'Constructive Anatomy' by Geo B. Bridgeman (I "borrowed" my art teacher's copy). I tried not to copy it too much and used my own style of drawing in it >_>

I did these like.. months ago for CalArts portfolio so it was probably done in like December or before. After that my parents wouldn't let me do figure drawing anymore since they thought it was too naughty for me XD

Nice figures, Eromenos. Shame about the folks not seeing it as anything other than naughty. Still, I like your take on Bridgman's studies and your self-portrait is wonderful with the color, brushstrokes, and outline. Ties it all together.

APGov sketches... i know not very government-y except for the supreme court justice caricature. On the left I drew that when I was in APGov during lecture. On the left caricature and a little thing reffed from characterdesign.com

What can I say.. i got really bored so I decided to practice on the technical side. Still not that good since I'm not very good at mecha but I like how its got the 80s, 70s pseudo future sci-fi look

:B Sorry I dun have a better update...

EVERYONE: Thank you for your comments! They made me feel oodles better after being rejected by art center XD

Rustveld: I use a moleskine sketchbook.

They have an awesome leathery black cover with yellow tinted pages and white edges They are totally kickass and you can find them at most art stores (xept for Michaels and Aaron Brothers) and you can find them at BORDERS

I bought my first at Utrecht (sent it to CalArts) and I got my second one at Borders. They are a bit pricey at I think about $18 for 100 paged sketchbook(thats about the size of a journal). I got the Borders one at $12 cause I had a coupon >_>

    HAR EVERYONE GET A MOLESKINE!

Dude I love how you rock your moleskine with those solid lines and your selfportrait's great color combo is kickass. I'll be watching your sketchbook, keep cranking them out.

I did the San Jose Stat Uni. figure drawing workshop for high schoolers last week (har my parents didn't know about it sshh).

The instructor taught us to draw the shape of the forms before hand and made us concentrate on the torso... I really suck at rectangles >_>

I have horrible perspective on these since I'm more used to just gesture work, capturing the form quickly so I just trust my eye on most things... This makes me break down the form and made me realized.. I've got a really long way to go before I get any good >_>

Five starts already? Yay you! Nice studies, both the observation and imagination ones.

Everyone is into the moleskine. I got one but meh, never used it. I like the Windson & Newton leathery artist's journal far better. Not as pricey, but still pricey and more posh looking.

    Ooo update! =D

How long were these? 1 min? 2 min? Pretty neat xD you should put more tone down though, if you have time either that, or its the camera that's not catching your shading correctly. We need to get going on that ChOW by the way... yikes!

Those new studies look great. I find the rectangular method rather handy, too because it's so easy to derail everything without that box keeping things straight. What caught my eye this time round was your sketch of the females with the blue coloring - great flowing lines and the touches of blue (Highlighter? Marker?) really make them stand out. Hee to the sci-fi. XD Good to see the variety in those.
