these are just a bunch of unfinished sketches and paintings. let me now what u think i will try to keep this up 2 date![]()
Hi Marc nice start. Vienna sounds awesome!
I like you're lines, definitely great potential - I think you just need to work on your anatomy more! Which I can see you have started. And you already have you're own style, I think it's just a case of getting the anatomy perfect to fit in with your drawing style
Good start, more!
y i have 3 big weaknesses imo 1. perspective 2. color 3. anatomy...
but well imo these are also the hardest to master but im working on it..will post more thanks for ur comment

Don't get discouraged by no comments. There are probably a hundred sketchbooks that show up on the first page each day. I really like this last picture, these designs in your sketches are interesting. I only have to say pay close attention to anatomy. The shoulders seem a bit wide on this because women tend to have less-broad shoulders than men. Also, on this, the anatomy of the stretched-out leg seems quite 'bendy', and the hand doesn't quite appear to be sitting on the ground, with the weight distributed on it enough, but that might just be not the case; if you had grounded it with a shadow perhaps it would appear to be fine?

The paintings keep getting stronger, man I'm impressed! You did a nice job with this last one in describing the different textures of the surfaces in the image (I'm talking about the indian man). I'm also quite a fan of that crazy flying ship! You've got a nice color scheme and the design is luxurious.
You said that you enjoyed doing the figure studies with your tablet up there, I think you should do more of them! That seems to be the biggest thing that's holding back your paintings right now is that the effectiveness is kind of being lost because of different anatomy issues, or just the form is being flattened out, so try more of those. I love your imagination though, you're producing some sick stuff! Nice work, Marc.
wow thanks so much for this kind words. u analyzed me quit well my biggest weakniss is thinking, painting 3dimensional i dont know why but i allways tend to make things flat...i must work on this and anatomy ofc . thanks so much for giving some crit since no one looks in here![]()

Yo dude. You got some awesome things going on with your character designs. They've got a lot of details and you're pulling a lot of those details from a variety of sources which is very cool.
There are some issues with your anatomy though. While your proportions are pretty good for the most part, there are instances where you are just slightly off. For instance, the hands of the bottom figure in post #7 are little too small. The right leg (our left) has also got issues. The upper leg is too long and the lower leg is too short. It should look more like the left leg (our right). The neck needs work too, not proportionally though; it looks like it isn't connected to the head.
Also, the figure in post #8 has a waist that is a bit too long; this is a common proportional error (I do it all the time). Here are proportional irregularities to watch out for: hands that are too small/big (same goes for feet and head); waists that are too long/short (same goes for necks). There are other ones too but they are not as common as those mentioned (that I can think of). Hope this helps.
Also, if you want to fix the problem of always making your drawings look flat then you must draw the figure from life. Find studios that have life drawings sessions that are open to the public and attend those. They will help SOOO much. You can also just draw basic 3D objects like cubes, spheres, cylinders, pyramids, etc... Those are the basic building blocks.
Rock on dude!

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."
Stop worrying so much about rendering and first get down the basics of structure and anatomy. Also, try to pick out a single light source to start out and place it somewhere when you are trying to put in those shadows because many of them seem odd.
Nice start you have here. but let's see some studies! They are the clear cut way to get better fast!
thats true. studies are boring but they are the superhighway to greatness. some of ur stuff looks a little flat sometimes
PS- ur first pic reminds me of h.r giger, GJ

Nice work you got, I like your detail work. One thing I might suggest is study anatomy and from life more. You can check out WetCanvas and get the Andrew Loomis books to help. Also check out www.characterdesigns.com for some pretty good references. Remember reference is your greatest tool. Keep it up Marc!
