Thanks guys, though I'm not completely back I do try to study as much as I can right now.
Here's a mothers day greeting card I made for me mom, hope you like.
And an idea I had the last few days just thought it'll be a good idea to draw it down before I forget about it.

But you're posting more often nonetheless

I like how the background and all the vector elements came out, but because of that i don't agree with the shading on the neck and chin. It should have all been cell shading..

    Btw, what language is that?

Since my head drawings suck so much I can only say: Go studies go!!
This is my temporary work setting, I will move everything to the second floor where I will have better lighting and quiet to study without an 18 month old jumping and throwing stuff around haha I love her so much!!

BlackDelphin thank you )) love seeing you here again and again...and again maybe?

what a day I had today....
I just remembered that Jason Manley called me few days ago to talk about TAD it was the funniest phone conversation ever, he's truly a great guy and so humble, I mean the guy owns CA.org massive black and TAD and he still finds the time to call me personally and chit chat...whatha?? he's awesome no doubt.
Anyhow done some more head studies today too tired to upload and this photo study about 40 min or so?
Aaaaaaaand my photoshop is going nuts, doing some really funky chicken here... weird errors and bugs.. I might reinstall it will see..

    Cheers!

Hmm sounds like you had your pc open for to long and it needed a restart.
Mine, at some point wouldn't even recognise pen pressure, wouldn't show the brush tip, tell me there's no more memory n such.
I'd reopen it or my pc and it would all be better

Chit-chatting about TAD heh, sounds like fun
Btw what's your mother language danny?

The reflection bit in your study looks good, but i see the light source all over the place..
Looking forward to those new head studies

And you can be pretty dang sure i'm here again, n again N AGAINNN

Neah, they're pretty good pictures of your drawings. One can see them, that's what matters: that you are drawing, and you have a method of showing it

I for one would not go to deep into loomis like that, doing more from real life and pictures of people. Sure, at first to get the idea, but then i's look for my own subjects. Sharing an opinion here.

Nice seeing you do a regular landscape study too. More defined shapes and crisp lines this time.

    Keep going Danny!

Now that's what i'm taling about!

You've pumped your engines and you're hammering the subject.
Great environment studies, and i see that flipping stuff to make a water reflection is already know by you good, it helps to save time ^^

Loomis heads are way better than mine's when i used to do them, i just can't stand Loomis's teahcing it feels so stiff and weird to me, but you're doing great with it. I won't give you any crit as you're a very wise Viking and know what needs to be done

I can only wish you some more free time to spend on drawing, see you soon bud.

P.S As a tip using lasso, and gradient fills helps alot in environments. You can also use quick masks for those.

    Wohooooo overtime!

    JiR sure will!

BlackDelphin Loomis is good to understand the foundations once I feel I am confident enough and I know what tha heck am I doing I will start doing more photo/life studies for sure

LtPlissken I heard sniffing too many flowers can kill you!!!
Thanks dude good to see you

Icecold Definitely man, all those tools are great for enviros, I'm gonna watch that video you sent me awhile back looks promising!

More studies, the kitchen table which I use when my wife's on the computer not that any one cares... I find myself studying a head for like 15-30 minutes and finishing one page in an hour or more, I guess it's not the quantity but the quality and what you get out of it no?

Trying to get my photoshop to work properly, got some weird bug that when I try to save a file "save as" or regular save it tells me the file already exists and asks if I want to overight it, and then saves it in different format than the one I wanted, has any one encountered this bug?

    cheers

    WOOT!
Now that is one inspirational environment you got there danny!

I am glad that you can keep drawing n drawing n posting these days once more.

And i think one must get out of those comfort zones to really improve.
Doing a lot of studies after an artists and less after life or photos limits ones creativity level to some point.

I liked doing bridgman or loomis because it felt safe. But i gradually increased the number of photos studies because i liked more dynamic poses, with more curved lines.
Now i do studies after these two only if it's a pose i don't understand and i really want to get it.

Onisan Thanks bro! inspiration is all over this place!
krel yeah, will definitely keep that in mind man, thanks
Fallenangel thanks bro, I feel like i'm barely touching the tip of the iceberg here but still it's something.
magicpudding thank you so much keep coming back please OK?
BlackDelphin I'm actually thinking of making a shirt which say comfort zone and a NO sign on it with red.
I really not limit myself to anything, I do a mix of books, life and photo studies. thanks for reminding me it keeps the edge sharp
    monsi heck yeah! thanks

some sketches, I feel like I need quite a bit of photo studies to get those colors better but I did start to feel color better on this one.

I am closing my 3d week without a job which sucks goats ballz completely, money is going from savings and we barely got anything left I got some interviews but nothing really impressive, hope I get anything at all at this point really. once I get a job and get into a routine I will be able to update daily, no more excuses... just work and studies.

Pencil and paper are cheap. Sketch on scrap pieces of paper, envelopes, anything! Don't give up! Keep sketching any chance you get, despite or even because of your present situation. I believe you can be an inspiration. Oh yeah, and remember to eat. Good luck!

    Hi Danny!
I really like the way you work. Your attitude is like mine I think. Just opened a Sketchbook and I am posting every day because I try to get better and better and better.

I did the same loomis heads, but I need to do "human" heads, I just did those cartoon-like heads.

I'm a late beginner, I'm 20 years old, was one of the best painters in my classes without any underteachment and I never thought about raising my possibilities and skills. But now I did and I decided to work hard on that. And its really interesting what happens to other guys in the beginning. Love your thread!

Greetings and sorry for my bad english, I am german.

Your heads are getting less and less wobbly, which is cool to see. Could still wish for a bit more accuracy, I think. One thing you might want to try as a warm-up exercise, is to draw like 10ish spheres like this one. The aim is solidity, the feeling of depth. Anyway, great effort put into this sketchbook, very good work.

Good luck with those interviews danny! I hope you'll find that steady spot real soon.

Studies are still going smooth even so i think. They're quite regular, yey!
The first envo has a nice mood to it, but i think that right side of the tree needs a more tree-like look. It seems less wood-like and more rubber-like as it is now. Also the perspective on that door is wonky, even if it should be in a different plane or so..

In any case, try working some more on that area and don't forget to relate objects to one another.

Faces are getting gooood! And I am seeing some golden nuggets of imagination in some of those study pages. Like the sketch of the guy and the figure, with the armour! Looks very cool.

Love the new painting, hope to see tons more of those.

Wish I could be helpful but sadly I am not right now lol. What I'll recommend though is to do some facial studies from reference to apply all you're learning from loomis

    Take care Danny
