it's all about the struggling >_<
but we're here to support each other!!

and a lovely update on our knight this time! the flames are really good, and a really nice colour on top of it

and i don't think it's lame, but i know that feeling: right now i have a lame landscape myself that i was thinking if to upload or not, and then i remembered, just like you, that i have to upload here everything!! so don't take out anything now
just upload in a small format if you don't want to take up space on the screen or desktop, but upload
took me a while to convince this though..

    take care~

np This latest piece is awesome. The sky is really great, as your color mixing is adventurous The ground perspective is the only thing that needs some more work atm it seems. Everything else seems to be a style thing. Keep it up!

Actually you know what I was just thinking? Are you using your monitors Native resolution or Aspect ratio? If not it can make your images look stretched. I had that problem before and I had to come up with a formula to adjust all my images back to the way I saw them as I was painting them. I had to find out by looking at them through someone else's computer.

    thanks guys!
I have been real busy lately overloaded with freelance projects and Landed on a new job in graphic design which took all my drawing and painting time away still I found the time to hop into the city Library and take the Andrew Loomis figure drawing for all it's worth book and start learning Anatomy more seriously, I try to draw every day at least 30-60 minutes.
As I read through the book it's truly amazes me how relevant are Mr Loomis's teachings to todays standarts, back then 40 or 50 years ago it was commercial art today it's game design and movie industry, every piece of information in this book is gold.

Keep going with the figure studies. Also, it would be nice to see some more stuff from life or reference. Your lastest post is a great start in that direction, it will help your art so much. keep drawing!

    Ahh, studying we are.
Great it is admit i must, drawing skills of yours
improved alot have had, proud of you am I !

Mastah Yoda would be too ;P

When it comes to loomis, hmm he truly was a great artist but his books arent that good for beginners in my opinion.
He often jumps from a sketchy concept into a finished piece without giving an idea whats in between.
I'd stick to Bridgeman for now, altho it's only my opinion.

I'm really glad that you are improving so much D. I keep my fingers crossed!

Wow, i missed a lot of updates...really cool sketch pages you've got here, it's really great that you study anatomy, keep it up!!!
I'm not a fan of studing from other people work - i just don't like it, it bores me to try to redraw/repaint someone else picture but i do agree that it's a really good way to learn and gain knowledge about different techniques and styles.

How is the Blizzard painting coming along? Show us some updates.

...Anyway keep up the great job!

(In a terrified voice) please Mr orc don't hurt me! here are more sketches for you! just please don't eat me! I taste like lumber.

007-r0b3r7 thanks a lot buddy Just to clarify I am not drawing since march I have been drawing since I was a kid but only for fun and never took it very seriously, so since march I started taking it to the next level which hopefully one day will become a career.

MichelleH I am glad that my piece of Guano art actually inspired any one thanks for dropping by

    Some more studies.

A skin tone study I did from studying http://www.furiae.com/popup.php?text=skintutorial really helped me to understand how color works together to make it look realistic, the picture is from ref.

very cool work man, im impressed that your sketches are so good and you are just now beginning to really study anatomy and skin tones. ive been drawing since i was little too, im about 20 now, so ive been drawing on and off for about 7 or 8 years now. im just about to get a wacom intuos4 tablet, i am so psyched. i have never really worked with anything but pencil and paper, your self motivation and sketches and your studies you are doing yourself are really a motivation to me as i begin to take courses for art and begin to start my own art studies. thanks for the inspiration and keep it up man, your stuff is great

    Wohoo! She's HOT!

Hmm maybe it's the monitor display difference, but i see this image abit washed out. What monitor are you working on?
And as for skin, colour, and lihgt in general i highly recommend Gnomon's practical light and color.
