Whimsnicole- ahhhh! I like your username! Anyways, thank you very much! I hope to update more often and during the next semester. When school starts up, I tend to neglect this site, which is a shame. So I'm going to try and be better about updating. : )

Some things. Couldn't figure out what I wanted to draw today. I really wanted to paint, but all my paints are at school...so far...

So, was it just me or was the site down for a couple days. I needed my daily dose of awesome inspiration, and I was denied >.> Well anyways, here's some more playing around in Autodesk Sketchbook Designer. I might revisit the ground monster just because I love that concept of ground giants.

    -Staal Sander- Thanks, man!

Some more doodles and sketches. Inspired by my little brother's drawing of a kid with wings attached to his butt. I thought it was a riot, so naturally I had to sketch it.

And here are some sketches for a personal project I will be working on next semester. All I'm gonna say is, it will be animated. Let's see how this goes...

    Elias Leonard- Thanks, man!

-Axelga2112- Ah, yes! I love that artist! Haha, it tends to show that I adapt and incorporate styles of artists I swoon over. -.-
Plus, I just love the stylization of a LOT of french animators. They all have a uniquely different way of stylizing the human figure that I'm just so enamored with. But yes, love that artist! He's a big inspiration to me.

Hm, so my second semester started. Do you know what that means? I have my first animation class ever, so hopefully soon I can put up some pencil tests! Right now we're just doing some simple ball bounces.
But during my free time, I went ahead and messed around in ToonBoom:

Just some very short little scribbles to mess around with the software.

You're doing good with the studies. It takes good discipline to do such complex studies. The skull must ba a 50 hour + study?

-Rhubix- Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm just concentrating my best on absorbing everything my school has to offer. It's really great. Who knew learning was so refreshing? Thanks much for the comments! I hope to compile some pencil tests soon to post up here. Animation is quickly becoming my favorite class!

-Axelga2112- Yeah, that skull took some time. I worked on laying out the skull every now and then. The actual shading took practically two whole days. But it was very satisfying when I finished it.

    Astounding improvement
You've got gorgeous characters and poses, love the looseness and motion in them. Your paintings have a lovely rythm in them. When I work with acrylics, the piece always ends up looking a little stiff due to the fast dry properties of the paints.
Going to keep an eye on your sketchbook.

Great sketchbook you've got, it was a lot of fun looking through the sheer variety of stuff in here! You seem to focus on characters a lot, is this going to be your general direction?

Sleep.less- Thank you! Ah, your comment makes me want to get back into painting again, I haven't done that in a while.

Clockworklives- I really would love to get more into character designing. It's probably one of my favorite things to do. But there's a TON of other stuff that I love to do as well, so we'll see where it take me!

A few more sketches. Midterms was pretty rough this semester.

Some drawing assignments. Got to choose from a slew of Chuck Close paintings to reproduce in pencil. Of course, I had to go with Phillip Glass.

another sketchbook post. I am designing a character to model in my 3D graphics class. Super stoked. Pretty sure I'm going with bat boy in the later sketches.

Also, here was my midterm environment for my 3D graphics class (the leaves were prefabricated). Maya is just a massive program and I don't even know how to comprehend everything you can do in there. And textures are kinda flying over my head at the moment, but hopefully I'll start to get the hang of it when we come around to texturing our characters.

good stuff- Just wanted to comment a bit on the flour sack.
It will make your life a lot easier if you consider his volume. This guy is the best for learning character animation because you don't have to worry about details- or hands! But because he's so simple it's easy to loose volumes and shape.
Below is a sketch I made for someone on the animation thread.

Rhubix- Hey, cool! Thanks for the help! Yeah, by flour sacks were lookin' a little pillow-y. Thanks for the quick demo drawing also, helps a lot.

Here is my first pass for a weight lift. Those last two steps at the end feel kind of nonexistant compared to the body, so that's one big thing I need to fix. I think I'm happiest with the acting at the beginning of the animation, before he actually picks up the box.
It's a lot of fun, though. And a lot of paper.

    Sketchbook is HERE
