Hey there. I've been wandering around concept art for a long time and I decided to start my own sketchbook.
I'm open for any critique. I'm young and I don't always know the "right" way to draw, color, or paint.

*EDIT August 8, 2011 Hey everyone. So I'm going to try to not neglect my sketchbook like I had previously. I'm a rising senior in an art highschool, so I'm getting my butt kicked. Working on improving all the time when I can. I am welcome to critiques! I want my art skills to keep on growing! Thanks guys!

*EDIT DEC. 24, 2012 Hey, all. Just updating to let you know I am now a college freshman. No more of that high school stuff. Phoo! I major in animation at my school, and I'm keepin' myself busy with work as always! Also don't hesitate with the critiques! I need all the critique that I can get, so have at it.

Anatomy. I haven't forgotten about you. Recently I've been going to live figure drawing classes (a.k.a. nude models) and it's been really helpful. I have something to look forward to every week now! I personally enjoy drawing figures more than anything else...maybe...
I should be able to post some of the figure studies soon.

as you can see, my color theory is atrocious, but I'm working on it. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it the more I work with color.

I've been going to a drawing class that actually has live models. This is a great experience, seriously. My friends poke fun at me for it, but it really helps.

oh my! I haven't been on here in ages. I feel kind of ashamed. (and I'm still trying to get used to the site, jeez I'm slow)
well, I guess I should update

these are school projects. The first is a finger painting assignment for my design class. We were also allowed to use a pencil to scratch and etch into the paint. This was personally my favorite assignment of the year.

The second is a pretty early piece from my drawing class. Self portrait. Before I added the hair, I looked like a mighty fine angry tribal baby. ;D

First is another project from school and my first attempt at multimedia. It's fun stuff.

and then this last piece is from this summer, an assignment for my drawing class. acrylics, gotta love 'em.

So, I read somewhere on the internet that painting on mylar was a thing. Apparently I missed the part that clarified that it wasn't just any mylar, but frosted/matte mylar. So, I went off all, 'mylar! my roommate has extra mylar!'
Reflective mylar. But I didn't know the difference.
Fortunately, I just wanted to do some studies, and cheap, easily portable materials are my favorite painting surfaces! These mylar paintings were done in no more than 3 hours each. I was originally intending for them to just be some sloppy studies, but I actually liked them so much that I hung them in my year's intensive arts show.
Here are a couple of those studies:

Those last studies are great, i like your colors! Maybe try to have more contrast on those.
Also, i see you got it best with the abstart kind of drawings.
Keep your traditional studies and also try to improve that ability of yours on abstract at the same time.

So, here is a painting that I was working on at the same time as those mylar paintings. Also, here is a white pencil on black paper drawing that I did back in September.

I really hope I can get into updating regularly, since I already come to conceptart so often for inspirational powers ;)

I'm a big fan of white pencil on black paper, and that image is beautiful! Is it anything in particular? or just organic shapes that sprung to mind?

@oODanyalOo: I actually did some pre-sketches of some nature/plants and sort of combined three sketches and morphed it into what you see on the white pencil drawing. It was an interesting process!

here is a quick update, a self-portrait, again. I'm in that weird mindset where I can't really comfortably paint other people's portraits. I dunno, I'll work it out.

I recently visited the MoMA and was blown away. I've discovered my hidden love for Van Gogh. I don't know why I never realized it before.

So here are some summer paintings. I'm painting over all my old canvases instead of buying new ones because, you know, who wants to spend money on art supplies, right?
