Spartan Camp #78 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Metal object"

Spartan Camp #78 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Metal object"
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 15th of March.

The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras....and can be in any media, digital or traditional is fine. Both with and without reference is OK. 50 poses is a challenge, but don't stress yourself! Practice is the main goal.

In addition to this, participants can choose to do a Optional Study of "Metal object", in any media. Black and White or Colour is fine.

Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!

PS...critting each other is highly encouraged!! Let's help each other get better!

Took my time with these ones. All referenced from Character Designs.

I got bored of being so precise, so these are all done in 1 minute. Speeds it up nicely.

Decided to add an extra twist and try to draw bigger than the reference picture. 1 minute also.

    A toaster from photo ref.

my post got lost somehow, lucky you (oh, it wasn't sooooo long but I still write too much)
I'm back and really sorry for the quality, I have no hours playing with the shots that I made in a tired state in a badly lit room, that wouldn't be fun anyway.
not much is visible but lookie, I actually drew gestures this week

I'm more serious than ever and maybe I have an antitalent at drawing (if that thing exists... many little kids are far better than me without any struggles), I won't give up so easily.

    Awesome people!

    Crits will be there tomorrow.

Some from posemaniacs, followed by some from imagination.

Smarty; Nice! Pretty good on such a short timer. I can see you were practising ''line economy". Works well, especially when using a pen. From what I can see, head shape and some parts of the leg (calves, ankle) are the weaker points. Although I admit that those seem to be tough on a short timer.
Great Distance; Pretty strong poses. Nice to see the added values too. Character Designs is a great source of ref, you've got some challenging poses in there. My only crits would be the hands in some cases, and the shading seems a little scribbly. Nice going on the 1min poses. You should compare them to the long poses. I think some of them seem a little "stocky". Perhaps it's something with the proportions, but I can't put my finger on it. Great toaster, very efficient.
shiNIN; Hi again! Great effort, keep it up. They're a little on the small side. Some very nice experimental poses in there though, and the second scan seems pretty good too. I'm not quite sure if you used any reference, but I'd advice to draw both from ref and imagination, and compare them. Always keeping reference nearby will also keep you focused on the proportions and all. Good variety of poses. Don't worry, you're not the only one wondering about an 'antitalent'. Nice optional by the way, clearly metallic.

I used only photos this time.
my imagination... I don't think using it is a good idea now... with my bad observation skills and tiny experience I would mess my own figures up
I need to really look at humans, I barely know anything about their anatomy I study anatomy, of course, but it's a very long path and I'm slow.
copywork results are far better but if I'm not careful, I don't learn anything from it...
Scylla and Charybdis... and I'm between them, trying to be in good distance from both.

drawing is the most tedious hobby or anything I ever had.
