really enjoyed the cow, and the little comps are great.
Hello, I admire your progress. May I ask a few questions?
Do you do both 2d and 3d? How is it like? Sometimes do you think 2d and 3d are two different arenas that you have to choose in order to do your best?
For example: I do 2d and 3d and I often find myself feeling guilty doing 3d modeling while not drawing and vice versa?
BTW, I like the quality found in your artwork.
fuu those are good drawings, and good studies and simplifications as well, sir, you are a monster!

Danny_K thank you glad you like it.
artmessiah i hope you dothanks.
vcoleman thanks man, yeah i really enjoy doing them when i got no plan what to paint, since i see alot of stuff in there i wouldnt have thought of painting.
Drawallday questions are vital, never feel bad for asking them.
i dont really do 3d... im just sculpting stuff, and dont really want to bother with the technical side. i got some minor understanding of geometry, textures, uv-layout, loops, weightmaps, and so on, but im terribly slow with that.... and yeah while im trying to pull that stuff off, im asking myself, if time wouldnt be spent wiser doing some drawing/painting/sculpting.
sculpting on the other hand, i have no bad feeling doing. i feel its closely related to drawing and painting and that my 2d skills benefit from it, and vice versa.
Nettle_Mountain ive been to your sketchbook... youre at least as much monster as me, sir. thank you.
MacTire thank you man.
Baudolino oh youre welcome, your gestures really rock, thank you for showing those.
just a few sketches i did... upper 3 ones are in ballpoint (3-4 cm high... tiny sketches)... i need to switch tools from time to time to "stay fresh"...

p sage thank you for your constant support man. i really appreciate that!
Lightship69 same here. thank you man.
the 3d stuff is zbrush... the new release is just awesome, not having to care about basemeshes at all since dynamesh.
heres a compilation of the zbrush stuff i did until now (i did some more but theyre ugly so i wont show). most of them i already posted in here in one way or the other, but i had to compile them for posting on zbrushcentral.
i also got alot of scribbles (im keeping an A3 marker sketchpad infront of me all the time and doodle on it during off-times with different tools... all analog sketches i did during the past 1/2 year happend on it), but i aint got no time to scan and compile them right now >.<

All your ZBrush stuff shares the same quality: Distinctive. All of them have individual traits and character; they're not generic by any means. Nice job there.
Was this drawing for the latest chow? Looks great.

HOLY SHIIIT this just blew my damn mind. Just absolutely amazing! All your stuff is just pure joy to look at. Fantastic memorable characters.
I guess your sensitivity is what really made you stand out. You know, sorta just instinctively making really cool characters, maybe by just giving the guy a really big nose or tiny eyes or funny whiskers or a giant forehead. It's really the fun of character design, for me at least. I've always doodled like this in my sketchbooks too, but I'm not even remotely as eloquent as you. All those faces you drew just look so believable but they have crazy proportions. I guess that's where years of practice really come in.
Thanks for giving all those crits in the crit center BTW, I learned a lot just by reading.

Really great work, your drawing and painting skills are amazing. I especially enjoy your pencildrawings.
Cheers,

Oh boy... So many hours of drawing ahead of me before I reach this level.
Very nice stuff. All of it.
Incredible sketchbook, i love your painterly aproach.
Thosem zbrush sculpts are cool aswell, i will have finally learn to use it, but this interface which is pretty much different than anything out there ( mudbox for example ) and shortcuts are so damn hard for newcommers![]()
Dude... you've got some seriously wicked art here.![]()
Hi matey
I am going back to the previous page for a moment because I forgot to say! the following:-
I like the idea of the three values in the thumbs thanks for that little nugget! and I'm gonna try that, I keep losing self control and trying loads of extra colours and things with some thumbs and losing sight of the objective which is to set it out and see what works. Not go for it with every idea that drops into my brain! god if I carry on like that I'll never get anything done.
I really like the count of monte Cristo and agree with my mate "Velocity Kendal" add some embellishments of his wealth, sorry that should be his ostentatious wealth as that was the honey trap for his greedy enemies!
ok rambled enough mate all the very best to you and stay well and keep on posting.

I love how you render in pencil, it almost looks digital(I mean that as a compliment btw o.-).
Do you find that your z-brush work informs your drawing any, or the other way around perhaps?
